eiii: Interesting registration dates on GOG. :D

So once again the developers already like and support DRM free games for a long time and apparently only the business department has delayed the DRM free release of this game here by more than 2 years.
Haha, we've always been advocates of DRM Free and I can assure you that the delay to the GOG release was not made for any business reasons but purely technical ones. Basically our shoestring budget and limited development cycle with no pre-production time required shortcuts which had to be... addressed... when it came to a GOG release.

We're a company of 9 people there's not really a concept of a business department beyond our triumvirate of directors, Simburgur is the managing director and if take his registration as a sign of interest then you can see how long we've been advocates of this philosophy.

We've been pursuing a potential release on GOG for quite some time indeed and we're glad to finally be here!

Edit: And just to confirm a significantly gutted DRM Free version was available since 2015, but the aforementioned technical reasons prevented it from being a true competitor. With this GOG version now available we're proud to deliver a DRM Free version that is as close to other versions of the game as possible :)

Klumpen0815: I understand your reasoning, purely cosmetic DLCs aren't everyone's cup of tea and some might like the option to buy a "complete" pack without it. Making another complete+ pack would probably make the list of versions end up like "Pillars of Eternity".
Imho a "complete" pack with the clear notion somewhere that there is also a purely cosmetic DLC is a good idea although it might annoy come completionists.
We'll take the feedback on board and we'd love to hear other's opinions on this :)

Noontide13: On the subject of a complete edition, that's something we plan to do after our final major update (and second major expansion) probably later this year or early next year. Not sure that this point whether it'll include the worker skins as well as complete certainly implies everything. We'll have a think on that and happy to take feedback :)
Looking at all the DLCs I also would consider the worker skins the most "dispensable" part. But on the other hand, when I look at the current prices and add the (potential) price for another bigger DLC the price for worker skins will not make much of a difference for the final price and I think I would prefer a complete edition with the worker skins included.
YES! YES! YES! Finally! Take my money! <3
@Simburgur & Noontide13 - I'd like to thank you both for communicating so openly and engaging the GOG community here in the forums as you've done here in this thread. Very few developers or publishers ever make any public comments ever or engage the community with any form of commentary so, it's a breath of fresh air to see some game devs are actually living humans here in the forums. :) Aside from THQ Nordic, and a small handful of indie devs we don't see much developer communication so it's definitely a welcome sight. :)

War For the Overlord added to my wishlist for the future now just for the community interaction you've given. :)

ped7g: The anniversary bundle doesn't list linux in supported platforms, but has linux min./recommended requirements sections...

So, does the anniversary bundle has also linux installer, and there's just galaxy MP missing? Or there's just windows installer and for linux version I should buy rather the [old] base game (which has linux platform listed)?

Noontide13: Very strange on that front, I'm in the office alone at the moment manning the fort for you chaps and I'm not sure what's happened here. As far as I am aware there should be a Linux version of every package, but maybe I missed a memo. I'll query it asap.

GOG Support might also be able to offer some insight.
Just an update on this, I've got in touch with my colleagues and we're not aware of any reason that Linux would be listed as not supported. Should all work fine and there should be an installer for those particular products. I've poked my GOG contact and I'm hoping I'll hear back from him tomorrow morning :) (9PM here in the UK, much later where he is!)

Thank you, must be some technical quirk to be resolved NBD (or I may refund later in case it will prove to be more than that (already did with Full Throttle remake, so I know it works well), so not something to worry about).

About "complete edition" .. maybe "game complete"? With warning in description that some skins are somewhere... I'm fine with that. I would even take "complete" if the description explains it early enough (ideally without hitting "... more").

I bought the "Anniversary Collection" and it has Linux installers as well, no worries ;). They (GOG) simply forgot to add the lines for Linux support on the product page - it happens every now and then. We'll probably see a fix for it in the next couple of days.

Glad to see this finally show up, and with all those multiplayer options (especially crossplay)!

I hope it sells well. :)
The store page needs to changed to reflect the extras in the Anniversary Edition... which I shall promptly wishlist.
Why is there on the download site a separate installer of the Crucible DLC for Linux but not for Windows and Mac? Is the Crucible DLC already included in the main game of the Windows and Mac version or is this DLC simply missing for these versions?

Thanks. Now I'm downloading to find out. ;)

EDIT:

I found out, that it's included. ;)

But I don't know how it behaves with the Linux version, if the separate Crucible DLC installer is really necessary or if it's included too.

aluinie: Bought this was going to buy on steam after the April fools video but held off til it came here and now that it is it is in my library. Cant wait to play this.

Simburgur: If The Cynical Imp is the video is the one you are referring to, you can now get that skin by donating to GamesAid here (in a few hours anyway - GOG codes are getting added to those widgets soon™).
Awesome release I even bought War for the Overworld: The Cynical Imp - Founders Theme Bundle for some extra support :) Also I am thinking to buy Steam version too on the summer sale !

It should be included, we're cleaning up some minor things like that installer and some some store pages not listing all 3 platforms today.
