I've read some reviews that say the game is geared more toward multiplayer and has been balanced around that. Can any one verify those claims? I'm not much for multiplayer or games that are geared around them to get the full experience.
@Devs:
Thank you for bringing a successor to the game I love to play. I'll wait for the complete edition though.

Single player campaign is as good and as varied as the original Dungeon Keepers. Not played heart of gold, so can't speak for that campaign.

tarasis: KS backer here, really pleased to see that WftO is finally here and that GOG people can get a chance to play it.

Thank you Brightrock for making the multiplayer cross platform!

Thank you for allowing GOG Connect to bring my copy over from Steam.

Undecided if I will rebuy the DLC I have on Steam ... did I really redeem my key all the way back of May 2013 ... holy moly.
It pays to read the comments sometimes :) Thanks for being a backer!

Skysect: It seems Sovereign Theme bundled with Underlord Edition Content . There is already seperate downloads for pdfs and osts . There is no point to bundle with them too . Underlord Edition Upgrade installer is basicly Sovereign Theme and it must be around 4 MB too like other DLC installers . GOG was doing same thing for some other games too . e.g. Wuppo . Please fix this . Thanks .
We're looking into this now.

Campaign, Survival, and Skirmish/Multiplayer each have their own hidden mutators with tweaked rules to suit that mode (as a general rule, Campaign is slower, Survival/Skirmish/Multiplayer are faster). You can also completely customise the mutators in Skirmish/Multiplayer to play however you want.

Also it seems fine with Linux version . And Mac version too . It seems only Windows version bundled with duplicated content .
I like when devs and players interact normally and get along : )

(nowadays it's almost rare, due to various crazy entitled users or some uncaring devs)

Never really touched anything from this genre before. Seems interesting though, but all the reviews seem to compare to Dungeon Keeper which I never played.

Anyone know of anything that might help a total newbie decide whether to buy or not?

P.S. Super refreshing seeing devs actually put effort forth here.

Gameplay videos perhaps? I'm sure there are plenty around by now.

I feel the same, for me support for all desktop main systems; straights answers and contacts with dev; plus big discount for Anniversary Collection make me to buy this game in the end this sale.

Sadly common contemporary scenario communication DEV vs Customers:

Custemer: I got memory exception bug, could you fix that?
Dev: Please update your game?
Customer: I have updated game to latest version X.y.z.
Dev: Upgrade all drivers to latest version (especially for graphic);
Customer: Still not working.
Dev: Probably that was caused by antivirus, or faulty ram module;
Customer AV uninstalled, memtest86 run 48h without any error, what next?
Dev: Probably you have some problems with Windows register or you install too much not compatible net framework;
Customer: System reinstalled, install only drivers, game, net framework that was bundled and still game crash;
Dev: It's feature not bug, you was chosen and you can live with that, btw. I'm glad to inform you that next part of our series will be released in next mount with tons of DCL...

BTW.
Wonder boy lost by price, missing Linux support and some problems with control (that was mention on reviews that you can find on youtube).

I only hope that new team dev that work on Eador imperium will fix this broken engine, this was last chance for that studio (Eador:MoTBW is relay interesting and long but glitches and errors broke this game, it's stable like Debian SID on one of my testing VM , you never know when you got crash :D ).

Best regards,
Adam B.

Or simply buy Dugeon Keeper I and II and try for yourself, now you pay about 3$ for both ...

Simburgur: If The Cynical Imp is the video is the one you are referring to, you can now get that skin by donating to GamesAid here (in a few hours anyway - GOG codes are getting added to those widgets soon™).
Is the charity thing a limited time thing or no?
Why can't I bring my copy from Steam?

Try the advice in the following link:
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003586109

Then, click the refresh button that can be found below your Steam and GOG account (in the GOG Connect page) and wait for a few hours. If it still doesn't work, then you'll have to contact support:

The plan is for it to be available indefinitely, but as it's a joint project with various entities involved it may need to end at some point but I don't see that happening for quite a while.

I had but apparently hadn't paid close enough attention.

Thank you :)
