Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Vikings - Wolves of Midgard, a brutal action-RPG drenched in the bloody Norse mythology, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com!

When the Gods do battle, all us mortals can do is hope that the least cruel one will emerge the victor. But not the proud Viking warriors of the Ulfung clan - no, they are determined to interfere. Sacrificing your enemies' blood to the Gods will give your warrior or shieldmaiden incredible powers, powers they need to survive this cold, unforgiving land, and slay the rampaging giants.

Looks so generic and bland from surface impressions but I dunno.
So, clunky controls and bad translations?

Wadziu: Rune!
Awesome thanks I'll look into it, looks like fun
I red the Linux version is possible in the near future. I'll wait for it. I just hope lack of Galaxy for Linux or any kind of Steam lock-in won't deter its release here.

Thanks! I hope GOG and developers won't mess it up again. Too many Linux games don't come out on GOG, despite having Windows versions here already.

Silverhawk170485: Yeah, it was only a joke I made because of several discussions according this theme before. Especially in the reviews HERE. ;)
Star Vikings is one of my top games of 2016. I wish it got more attention.

As for this Wolves of Midgard game, the store page isn't giving me enough information to know if I'm interested or not. All I know is that I wouldn't pay $40 for it, so I guess learning more about it doesn't matter until there's a deep discount.
I have read lots of complaints about the movement on the PC and a potential bug on the first level boss. Does anyone know if this includes the GOG version? No sense buying it if it clunky or buggy.

Yes and yes, but the game's pretty entertaining thus far. Maybe not full-price-entertaining for someone on the fence about it, but I'm liking it quite a bit.

The keyboard and mouse controls are weird (rebindable, though I don't know how one would rebind them to be any less so), but give you quite a bit of control once you get used to them. You can, for example, be running forward and instantly dodge backwards. It's definitely more comfortable on a controller, though. As for the first boss bug, the GOG version definitely has it, but there's a workaround where you beat it and then wait to die from the cold. Then you start from the checkpoint right before the boss fight and beat it again and everything works. I've beat a couple bosses since and haven't had anything similar happen, so it's not universally or overwhelmingly buggy, but that was definitely frustrating when it happened.

I'm sure it'll be fixed properly in time, though. The developers are pretty great about that kind of thing; they're the ones who went to bat for Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms after their publisher went under before the game was finished. They're apparently still working on finishing that game even though it'd probably be more profitable to abandon it, which is pretty admirable.
Thank you 227 for the reply! I want to purchase the game, but I think I will wait a bit for the fixes, just to be sure, then I will more than likely purchase it, as the game does look very interesting.

Star Vikings looks like a cartoonish grade school game. I can see why most would pass on it. Soon as I see them look that I don't even give it the time of day.
Dammit! I really need to get a grip on my finances so I can get a modern computer!
