Immerse yourself in a story of international conflict between a powerful empire and a small coastal kingdom. Vestaria Saga I: War of the Scions is now available DRM-free on GOG.COM with a 20% discount lasting until 16th July 2020, 1 PM UTC. When an imperial ship is set ablaze near the port of Meleda, it sparks a cascade of events that thrusts young warrior Zadrian into a war for the future of his kingdom. In this classically styled strategy RPG everything from positioning, movement, to weaponry, is important on your path to victory.
Instabought, another game off my beg list. :)
It seems like this game has Chinese support on steam but here on GOG it seems to only have English, according to the store page. Can someone help to confirm? If the GOG version also supports Chinese I will refund my steam copy and get it here.

Dray2k: Nice to see more RPG Maker releases on here, there is some good stuff out there.
Apparently SRPG Studio, actually.

Lodium: So
is this something simmilar to Fire Emblem series?
i always wanted ab game like that for pc

Whsie: It's more similar to Tear Ring Saga (on the original Playstation) if you ever played that one. But yes, Kaga is basically the father of the FE series before he departed after FE5.
How does it compare to Shining Force?

Learned something new today, thanks dude.

SRPG Studio seems like a cool tool as well. It looks like it uses similar formats as the newest RPG Maker, nice to see theres more than the newer RPG Makers if you want to make Strategy RPGs now.

Cavalary: Very much so, according to the reviews I saw.

RPS:

Beginning:

"Look, do you like Fire Emblem? If so, do you believe the series peaked with the release of Thracia 776, twenty years ago? Well, if that’s you, then great. You’re gonna adore Vestaria Saga I: War of the Scions. On the other hand, if you’ve never played a tactical RPG of this broad type (think Disgaea or Banner Saga) before, it might be wiser to back away. This is a game for, and by, hardcore Fire Emblem fans, made by series creator Shouzo Kaga and a small team of dedicated followers.

What if you’re somewhere in the middle? Well. More general tactics game enthusiasts will find plenty to love here – but they’ll have to be prepared to get accustomed to some typical Fire Emblem idiosyncrasies which Vestaria never bothers to explain.

Vestaria Saga plays very similarly to Fire Emblem games from the SNES-GBA era. the only thing missing is the classic ‘weapons triangle’."

Conclusion:

"Vestaria Saga is a merciless game. It can be wonky. Unpolished. Occasionally frustrating. But I know a particular subset of players won’t care, because this is a new, old, Fire Emblem, and nobody but Shouzo Kaga makes games like this anymore. Have fun with it, then, if you suspect you fall into that group. Enjoy this beautiful mess."

Thanks, this Info helped a lot!

It doesn't. It plays like Fire Emblem games.

Shining Force is an easy, simple breeze compared to it.
I'd love to buy this but it seems like the game is broken under wine, so no way to run it on linux unfortunately.

Aren't they like the same genre? What makes Fire Emblem more difficult?

Fire Emblem (and this game) has permadeath, breakable weapons, damage triangle, no ability to grind (so limited funds to replace weapons), enemy damage is very high and a single critical can one-hit kill a character, also all the optional content is on the battle field itself and often battles have a time limit, so exploring often gets punished and it's near impossible to play everything through perfectly. Not to mention that this game also has endless respawning monster so you can't even clear a map.

Sorry for the late reply, as I didn't notice this before. As someone else pointed out to me when I made the same complaint, it's a known bug (sorry, it's too much trouble for me to find a link right now). The game works perfectly with winetricks wsh57.

Oh, cheers! In that case I'll give it a try.
