There will be blood. Delicious blood.

<span class="bold">Vampire&reg;: The Masquerade - Bloodlines&trade;</span>, the timeless RPG masterpiece that has sucked many a gamer's time, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Intoxicating. Macabre. Vital. These are both traits of blood and of Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the RPG that forever changed expectations on how the creatures of the night should be depicted in videogames. Was it the ridiculous replayability? The versatility of our vampiric abilities? The gripping visual and sound design? Perhaps the memorable NPCs and stellar writing. One thing is for certain: much like the daunting Antediluvians, this is a game whose allure only grows stronger with time. No point in resisting it any longer.

Sink your teeth into the definitive bloodsucking experience that is <span class="bold">Vampire&reg;: The Masquerade - Bloodlines&trade;</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Note: This version includes third-party technical fixes, courtesy of Wesp5. The full unofficial patch, which also includes additional content, can be found over at <span class="bold">Patches Scrolls</span>.

Venita: There's an option to play that as well, we called it "Legacy". Just choose that and enjoy your vanilla game :)

moonshineshadow: How about adding this info to the gamepage? Then people don't need to ask for it every few posts ;-)
Ditto. Also considering the amount of reviews written by people who are blatantly unaware of that (such as Cylnar's 'Please let us choose which patch to use!').

Yeah. And GOG should also include readme / changelog for the Wesp5's patches somewhere.

Thiev: No, Bloodlines: Antitribu is a separate mod
avatar
j0ekerr: They made an antitribu mod?!

Can I get a Lasombra?
Yes you can and they get Obtenebration. The other playable clans are Tzimisce, Old Tzimisce, Samedi, Nagaraja, Giovanni and Followers of Set
Years of waiting are over now...

That too. :)

Anyway, what a fantastic surprise GOG! Instajizz - as the young kids say these days.

Though I would greatly appreciate it if you could make sure we got the uncensored version/intro instead (info thanks to <span class="bold">MBiL_248</span>).

Uncensored intro or glitch? You be the judge:

And apparently the intro decapitation was removed with the official 1.2 patch even in the US version, anyway.

I played this way back when it was on CD (that I found when cleaning up yesterday) and I have never finished it. Back then needed to download the patch to stop it crashing right at the end and when I did patch it the we when on trip and I'd forgot about it, uninstall it for more disk space then reinstall it later and repeat.

This must be fate. Have to buy it now (or else fate will be a bee with a itch and slap me) and end this to see one of the 3 endings (if I'm remembering right).

I have the three CD US version laying around here at the house somewhere so I'll check my version with the 1.2 patch and nothing else sometime soon :)
The game is awesome. Seeing it DRM-free on GOG is likewise awesome. The price tag is... not so awesome.

But it utterly annoys the living crap out of me seeing the "publisher" do diddly with a true gem in their possession and still be financially rewarded for that kind of a behavior.

Activision could have easily done some patching without relying on unpaid efforts of a true fan to sell their product. They could have improved the models and textures of the original release. THAT would have explained the price point.

Dumping an oldie on nostalgia-waxing crowd without any support with this kind of a price tag, though?

The fact that they will still probably make quite a lot of money on it pretty much explains why the "game industry" is going the way it is.

Screw it, I'll rather dump that money on some indie team trying very hard to get their perfect game out, not some corporate parasite.

5 endings...

1) You side with that idiot, em, Prince.
2) You side with Quei Jin.
3) You side with Camarila elders.
4) You side with Anarchs.
5) You give everyone finger (literally) and side only with yourself; "taxi driver" comments it being a hard path, plus one He walked sometime...
Technically, you can kill the Quei Jin. kill the Prince, then open the sarcofagus yourself.... that's ending 6.

Bought it, downloading now.

This game is top 3rd selling right now. By tomorrow I won't be surprised if it's no 1.
I'd given up hope of seeing this here. Great get.

It's a shame Troika didn't last. I didn't get into The Temple of Elemental Evil, but Arcanum and this are two of my absolute favourite games.

Did you mention something about Wine not showing the progress bar in our Windows installers? Because the installation progress bar works fine on my Wine 1.9.8, see the attached picture :)

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but just in case it hasn't, here's something of interest to all Deb of Night fans.

All credit to Outstar on this one, she mentioned it during a stream earlier today.
