There will be blood. Delicious blood.

Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the timeless RPG masterpiece that has sucked many a gamer's time, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Intoxicating. Macabre. Vital. These are both traits of blood and of Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the RPG that forever changed expectations on how the creatures of the night should be depicted in videogames. Was it the ridiculous replayability? The versatility of our vampiric abilities? The gripping visual and sound design? Perhaps the memorable NPCs and stellar writing. One thing is for certain: much like the daunting Antediluvians, this is a game whose allure only grows stronger with time. No point in resisting it any longer.

Sink your teeth into the definitive bloodsucking experience that is Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Note: This version includes third-party technical fixes, courtesy of Wesp5. The full unofficial patch, which also includes additional content, can be found over at Patches Scrolls.

What's the patching situation with this version? Natually it's going to have all the official patches, right? But what about the unofficial patch? Is it confirmed compatible?

Nice release though, GOG. This has been pulled some places so I thought this one might continue to live in release limbo a bit longer.

No point in complaining about the price. It's an Activision game, people.

MysterD: Wow; you're supplying both the unmodded 1.2 and Wesp 9.5 Basic versions of the game?
AWESOME!!! :)
avatar
Thiev: recent unofficial patches (from 9.0+ I believe) support that by default;
Does that include the antitribu clans? Is that in your "regular" install?

It has unofficial patch (9.5), but not patch plus. The later you should install yourself.

Built in? Wow, I'm impressed really. I know they're well within their rights to do that, but seldom do you actually see things like that actually being done.

Does patch+ make a lot of difference?

Smannesman: What if you want to play the original game, unmodded?
avatar
Venita: There's an option to play that as well, we called it "Legacy". Just choose that and enjoy your vanilla game :)
How about adding this info to the gamepage? Then people don't need to ask for it every few posts ;-)

Yes. It adds more items and even new locations. I can't find a single list of features, but here you can see changelogs (+ indicates patch Plus):

No, Bloodlines: Antitribu is a separate mod

Yeah, that's definitely worth grabbing. Thanks! All this continued patching for well over a decade... It does make me wonder how much extra time Troika would have needed to finish the game. Probably the best part of a year, by the look of it. It's just a shame they didn't have a publisher who recognised their ambitions.

Arinielle: Nice. Been waiting for this one but think I'll wait a while longer for a sale.. 20 bucks for this game is asking too much, I think. And it still needs fan patches to make it more playable/less buggy, that's for sure.

Still glad they finally brought it here, though.
Your wallet will thank you later, for having patience.
I regret purchasing Age of Empires II HD on release day. Now you can buy the game for much less money.
Don't let the hype get access to your wallet. ;)
Just wait for a promo.

They made an antitribu mod?!

Can I get a Lasombra?

I wonder what will happen with White Wolf now, after Paradox bought them. Too many Paradox games are Steam only...
I'd wondered if this might come to GOG since Paradox bought White Wolf. However it happened, I'm glad to see it here. Fantastic RPG despite some flaws. One of the best. Bought. :)

Bloodlines isn't owned by Paradox. They only own the settings. The actual game is owned by Activision. This question is more critical for future Vampire: The Masquerade games (which are coming!). Those will be owned by Paradox already.

Very good release, another classic gets finally its tick on the checklist!

Now to the other point: the price... For real?! There is one word in the announcement text which describes it perfectly: "ridiculous". 17.59€ is ridiculous Activision.

Do we play a vampire who sucks out his victims or are we the victims who get (their wallets) sucked out from them?

I'll buy it at a high price! Well, unless something of real interest comes up during the current sale. ;)
