There will be blood. Delicious blood.

Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the timeless RPG masterpiece that has sucked many a gamer's time, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Intoxicating. Macabre. Vital. These are both traits of blood and of Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, the RPG that forever changed expectations on how the creatures of the night should be depicted in videogames. Was it the ridiculous replayability? The versatility of our vampiric abilities? The gripping visual and sound design? Perhaps the memorable NPCs and stellar writing. One thing is for certain: much like the daunting Antediluvians, this is a game whose allure only grows stronger with time. No point in resisting it any longer.

Sink your teeth into the definitive bloodsucking experience that is Vampire®: The Masquerade - Bloodlines™, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Note: This version includes third-party technical fixes, courtesy of Wesp5. The full unofficial patch, which also includes additional content, can be found over at Patches Scrolls.

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Didn't see that one coming, and i will pick it up later since my retail copy
runs fine on win7 64 with the community patch.

Sufyan: Pretty damn lame of people to complain about the price. This is Bloodlines in a working DRM-free installer. For years I've been forced to use a pirated custom made installer of the game because the originals don't work post-WinXP (or 64-bit OS's, I forget what the problem was). This game hasn't exactly been rescued from a shallow grave with the GOG release, but close enough. I've been waiting for years hoping that I could own this game license and have access to GOG style installers. I'm very happy that it is finally here and will buy it as soon as I can, regardless of the retail price. Good job on everyone who made it possible to release the game!

rampancy: You act as if you're genuinely surprised. This is the GOG forums we're talking about here. GOG could release NOLF and NOLF 2 as free titles tomorrow updated with fully updated modern OS compatibility, Mac and Linux ports, and fully functional multiplayer both with and without Galaxy...and people would still find something to bitch and complain about.
yup, my thoughts exactly. i've never seen so many cheapshit fools as there are on gaming sites these days. it's like gamers these days want a welfare-state for their hobby.
Alright, GOG. This is more like it. Thank you.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!

I was just thinking, this weekend, how I wished this was on gog!!

So happy! <3
Good to see it here. Will buy later after clearing more of my backlog.

tfishell: Hopefully Emperor Rise of the Middle Kingdom finally shows up after four years of waiting, along with SWAT 4, missing Sierra adventures, etc.

damien: I'm hoping for the missing King's Quest and Space Quest games to finally appear (the missing versions)
That'd be nice. Personally I'm not really optimistic, but if those versions are all official (not fan remakes), I think we can have some hope.

I was really excited when I saw GoG had finally acquired Troika's last masterpiece. Even though I own the boxed copy I might have picked up the digital version when it went on sale ($20 for a game this old is a bit steep). But then I saw this bit of copy...

"Note: This version includes third-party technical fixes, courtesy of Wesp5. The full unofficial patch, which also includes additional content, can be found over at Patches Scrolls."

Is there any chance of us getting a version that does NOT include any third party alterations? Just the basic game, patched to the last official 1.2 version, would be terrific, and it would allow players to choose whether or not to apply a particular fan patch/mod, or an alternative they prefer.

To be specific: Wesp5's UP is not the only game in town. I prefer the more purist approach of Tessera's True Patch Gold. I am not here to start anything with Wesp5's supporters, and as it currently exists GoG's version of VTMB will be incompatible with the TPG anyway. But GoG, if you care about providing options for your customers, please consider releasing the 1.2 version of Bloodlines as an alternative download for the rest of us.

Thanks and happy vamping to all!
Never felt the urge to play this one. Until now.

Wishlisted :)

Yes, the game has two shortcuts; one for Wesp5's version and another one for the vanilla version.
Holy skit GOG you did it! <3 Thank you so much and Activision for bringing it here.

You have two shortcuts in start menu, you can choose the vanilla game as well.

They said the vanilla version is playable as well.
Have to look for it though. Gimme a sec.

Edit: Here it is

What if you want to play the original game, unmodded?
There's an option to play that as well, we called it "Legacy". Just choose that and enjoy your vanilla game :)

damien: now that I'm thinking, Wizards & Warriors from Activision would be great too!

MBiL_248: I second that absolutely! The trailer to this is shown in the main menu of Lands of Lore 2, and every time it plays I think it would be very interesting to play this one. :)
I own the box from way back when, it's a great game. Unfortunately, it is broken after you get to a certain city if you're playing on anything later than win98. It would be so awesome if gog could get it and fix it, would certainly be an instabuy from me :D
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Gog never disappoints.
