Catching fire



The second DLC for <span class="bold">Valhalla Hills</span>, the colorful viking city builder, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows, Mac and Linux. To celebrate, all versions are now 40% off!

Whoa, things are getting really hot in here. Continuing their long walk towards the venerated Valhalla Hills, our Viking friends now have to go through the scary-looking Fire Mountains, a hostile place devoid of greenery, but full of mineral resources.

Owners of the <span class="bold">Two Horned Helmet Edition</span> get Fire Mountains for free. Those who were still holding back can now go for the complete experience by grabbing the Two-Horned Helmet Edition Upgrade to get both DLCs plus an artbook, wallpaper, soundtrack, developer Video, and 5 special in-game items!

Always nice to see a Season Pass ending.

Let's hope the following season passes fare the same fate:
- Dreamfall Chapters
- Kentucky Route Zero
- Minecraft Story Mode - Adventure Pass
- Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms
- Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The - Expansion Pass

Great to see the second DLC out. I really like the aesthetic of this game, and town-builders are right up my alley, but the hefty price tag combined with the size of my backlog has turned me off so far.

You could add Galak-Z to that list. Although it isn't advertised as a season pass, when you get to the end of episode 4, you get a "coming soon" message - the fifth and final chapter isn't in the game yet. They plan to add it as free DLC when it's finished (ETA end of 2015... hmm).

It says something about how few people ever finish games that they've been selling an incomplete game for months now, without warning buyers at all, yet have copped barely any flack over it.

Haha, I searched for Galak-Z this afternoon to see the price drop on Steam. And even though I don't own it, I went to its Hub, and I found this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/300580/discussions/0/364041776194150696/

I only read a few words because I don't want to read any spoilers, but it seems like it's close to what you're mentioning.

They released The Void instead of Season 5, there will be no actual Season 5.

Thank you Funatics. Finally the game is whole.

Edit: Note to Linux users. You have to download the updated Valhalla Hills installer since there is no separate patch available for the game otherweise the new dlc won't work and the game will crash.

Like omega64 said, season 5 was replaced by the Void DLC, which has been on GOG since last Friday.

Thanks for the replies. I hadn't noticed this month's changes - the Void DLC and the price change.

Galak-Z definitely doesn't belong on mrkgnao's list. Apparently it now belongs on the list of "deeply dissatisfying endings that make you wish you hadn't bothered with the game" but oh well, at least they finished it. ^_^
