One tank army.

Uprising: Join or Die, an action/RTS where you command the most advanced vehicle in the galaxy, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 25% launch discount.

An alien force strikes the colonized planet Albion in full force. Earth responds by forming a strong military organization that goes after the extraterrestrial aggressors. At least, that's what the army wants you to believe.

Now a power hungry general has usurped and repurposed the terran government, presently known as the Imperium. But the rebels managed to steal the Wraith, a cutting edge combat vehicle which might turn the tide of this civil war, and have trusted you with it. Through your first-person perspective you can allocate resources, claim strategic points on the map, call down buildings, and form entire bases while you seek out and destroy those of the enemy. In Uprising: Join or Die you must act both as a strategic planner and as the spearhead of the rebel forces, wreaking havoc with your upgradeable and conveniently versatile super-vehicle. It seems like an almost unfair advantage but hey, if they didn't know how to fight it, they shouldn't have built it in the first place.

Join the resistance as both a commander and an agent of destruction in Uprising: Join or Die, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% launch discount will last until March 24, 1:59 PM GMT.

Matruchus: Can this game be played in 1920x1080 resolution?
You can change nGlide settings to any screen supported resolution, but in-game menus are locked at 640x480
I have to admit I'm not familiar with this game, but it looks nice. I'm really happy to see another classic release. Purchased. :)

Thanks for the answer, Thiev.

rgnrk: As a collector, I'll get it at some point in a heavy sale. But it's not the kind of old game I'm really into.
You can't be picky these days with so few classic releases.

Congratulations to gog on this release, it's going straight into my shopping cart! I hope to see the rest of Retroism releases here, too.

So is nGlide the only available option in Uprising? Are there any DirectX or OpenGL options available?
I remembering playing this a little after a friend recommended me it when we were in Junior High. I never really got into it but I think it's pretty good, it's possible the sequel is better for modern games but honestly, I'm not sure. Looking forward to playing it again.

How's widescreen working and is it fully supported in Windows 7?
GREAT release GOG !

Congratulations to everyone involved in releasing this old gem!

This game, part of a rare breed of RTS/1st person games of the late nineties,
is exactly the kind that fits perfectly in GOG's catalog.

I absolutely LOVED this unique genre, and was sad to see it almost disappear from the gaming
landscape.

A few other gems in this lost category: that should be brought back on GOG:

- Battlezone 1 and 2 (the 90's version, not the arcade game)
I know Rebellion however is working on an updated version of the 1st.

- Uprising 2 (not as good as the first but we will take it!)

- Hostile Waters (easier to find these days because is available as digital download)

- And one that I was really hooked on but seemingly nearly everyone else forgot...
Urban Assault!
I had a BALL with this game. Only wish it was further developed, as originally planned, so you
could play the other factions.

Any oldies in this category I forgot? Probably so :)

It looks like some people are encountering issues with the game. :-/ I've seen both Win7 and Win10 64-bit listed in there. I really hope GOG can fix the issues!

It came back but I might have misunderstood it that you didn't know it was back.

Ouch, doesn't look good with "sensitive to background applications." I use a couple that I rarely accept to be without so might have to end up tweaking this for some time.
OMG OMG OMG . GOG you made my day, I never lose a hope to see my favorite game on GOG, thank you guys (and Retroism team too) - I am runing away to buy it :) Also it would be great if we see another jewels - Battle Engine Aquila & Urban Assault

Just a heads up this one is coming here. Someone in another thread even mentioned a date (mid / late April). A few other 3D0 games were "confirmed" as well.

*EDIT TO ADD

I THOUGHT I saw someone mention a fairly solid "unofficially official" confirmation of the Battlezone Reboot showing up here as well, though I COULD be wrong about this one.

vicklemos: Ah, the sequel! Great sequel!
Would love to see that similar game "Battle Engine Aquila", one of those vicklemos picks of the past decade ;P

IronArcturus: Yeah, it would be great if GOG could get Battle Engine Aquila! That was such a rare game!
I believe it was on Gamersgate some years ago.
Yep, such a rare game. So pretty, great sound effects and intense gameplay.
Has anyone tried Uprising on Win7 64-bit? How well does it run on that?

Nothing about a GOG release of Battlezone as of yet.

3DO games bring back sweet memories. Do you know which titles "are" coming? :)
