One tank army.

Uprising: Join or Die, an action/RTS where you command the most advanced vehicle in the galaxy, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 25% launch discount.

An alien force strikes the colonized planet Albion in full force. Earth responds by forming a strong military organization that goes after the extraterrestrial aggressors. At least, that's what the army wants you to believe.

Now a power hungry general has usurped and repurposed the terran government, presently known as the Imperium. But the rebels managed to steal the Wraith, a cutting edge combat vehicle which might turn the tide of this civil war, and have trusted you with it. Through your first-person perspective you can allocate resources, claim strategic points on the map, call down buildings, and form entire bases while you seek out and destroy those of the enemy. In Uprising: Join or Die you must act both as a strategic planner and as the spearhead of the rebel forces, wreaking havoc with your upgradeable and conveniently versatile super-vehicle. It seems like an almost unfair advantage but hey, if they didn't know how to fight it, they shouldn't have built it in the first place.

Join the resistance as both a commander and an agent of destruction in Uprising: Join or Die, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% launch discount will last until March 24, 1:59 PM GMT.
Not my kind of thing since I don't really like the Action/ RTS hybrids (regarding the RTS part, I prefer isometric point of view), however it is more than nice to see an older game hit the GOG store!

IronArcturus: Have you tried the game yet? It looks like some people are having issues trying to get the game to run. But I don't know what OS they're running.

ElTerprise: Haven't even bought it yet ;)
I've been waiting too. But I hope GOG will look into the crashing issue. I also wonder if it has windowed mode...
I had a demo of this back in the day and LOVED it! I've been hoping it would come here eventually! YAY!

It's also nice to see similar sentiments.

I remember it not being too heavy on strategy for my liking, but much more tactical than an FPS, it had great balance and gameplay.

No windowed mode unfortunately.
Regarding crashing, the game immensely dislikes any applications running in the background.

Do you know what kind of applications are crashing? Which OS's does the game not like?
This game was huge in here! Glad to see it re-released!! :D

Weird thing was, what crashed the game on one testlab machine, worked fine on other, but there sth else could crash it. Safest bet was to run the game with no background apps at all.

IronArcturus: Very cool! Will GOG get the sequel as well?
Ah, the sequel! Great sequel!
Would love to see that similar game "Battle Engine Aquila", one of those vicklemos picks of the past decade ;P
I remember reading about this back when the second one was released. Didn't get it back then, maybe in a not so distant future. :)

Yeah, it would be great if GOG could get Battle Engine Aquila! That was such a rare game!
OMG UPRISING! The best of the hover tank strategy games (yeah, I said it). THANK YOU GOG!
I have been waiting for this... sounds interesting! I remember reading some time ago that there were technical (compatibility) problems preventing this game's release (and Revenant's too - what about that?), nice to see it available at last.
Now if we could only have Battlezone as well...

This is one of those games I always "meant to pick up" on ... PS2? Xbox? Whatever console it first released on. Never did, but wouldn't mind giving it a go!

Anyways, nice to see Uprising here and I even saw a date for Uprising 2 as well (mid-end of April).
Can this game be played in 1920x1080 resolution?
