One tank army.

Uprising: Join or Die, an action/RTS where you command the most advanced vehicle in the galaxy, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 25% launch discount.

An alien force strikes the colonized planet Albion in full force. Earth responds by forming a strong military organization that goes after the extraterrestrial aggressors. At least, that's what the army wants you to believe.

Now a power hungry general has usurped and repurposed the terran government, presently known as the Imperium. But the rebels managed to steal the Wraith, a cutting edge combat vehicle which might turn the tide of this civil war, and have trusted you with it. Through your first-person perspective you can allocate resources, claim strategic points on the map, call down buildings, and form entire bases while you seek out and destroy those of the enemy. In Uprising: Join or Die you must act both as a strategic planner and as the spearhead of the rebel forces, wreaking havoc with your upgradeable and conveniently versatile super-vehicle. It seems like an almost unfair advantage but hey, if they didn't know how to fight it, they shouldn't have built it in the first place.

Join the resistance as both a commander and an agent of destruction in Uprising: Join or Die, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% launch discount will last until March 24, 1:59 PM GMT.
Well, someone's got to ask this eventually: any word on WINE compatibility?
I love the graphic style. Don't know if I could handle the strategy though.
My first impression as well was of the revamped Battlezone I & II games, which I quite liked. This one looks pretty good too.

Might want to go over the game card for typos, though:

"you need to establish tideal bases"

"The path to the stars was herladed as a new beginning"

Unless tideal is a sci-fi term used in the game. :)
I love this game, but I've not been able to get my disc version working since Windows 7. I assume from this release that there's a way though? My experience with GOG versions of games where the disc version didn't work on modern systems has been...spotty, to say the least.

Will be picking this up later anyway to see for myself.
An oldie with manual is always welcome on GOG. Likely will buy it but first I want to see what weekend promo has to offer.
Added to the library. Cheers! :D
Uuuh - YES!

Played this one and the second part quite a lot. Battlezone (2) was much more polished than this one, but I like it`s style and the fact, that I could be as powerful as a whole army when controlling a tank myself. But there were always more than one crittical point to cover so you had to work with your troops...

Don`t know if I would (want to) play this one today. But I remember it as a good one. Allthough I prefered Wild Metal Country (WMC) later on :)
Wishlisted.

op2017: I do have a question: the GOG version uses Glide graphics?

Thiev: Yes.
Thank you!

Man, I really loved this game back in the day. I mean, I only ever had the demo, but I played the shit out of it.
AWESOME! Have been hoping for this game to appear on GOG ever since I joined. Didn't get to play it much back in the day but what I saw back then was super impressive. Will pick this one up soon.
Very cool! Will GOG get the sequel as well?

Yep:

The first two games in the agreement will arrive on Good Old Games (GoG) on March 17th with Uprising: Join or Die and in late April, the sequel Uprising 2: Lead and Destroy.

Have you tried the game yet? It looks like some people are having issues trying to get the game to run. But I don't know what OS they're running.
