apehater: WOW WOW just WOW!

i waited so many years for this game to be released on gog! really hope that gog made it work on modern pc's without all the glitches and problems. it also lacks the german language version so far.

anyone played the gog version already? does the music work?

JudasIscariot: We wouldn't have released it if the music did not work :)
i don't think this is an unnecessary question, since quality of gog's old game releases goes downwards. rage of mages 2 is a recent example, where the horrible scrolling bug isn't fixed, yet gog staff released it. btw, its still not fixed!

so do you know if uprising 2 has music and if track loop does work or just assume?

Yes, the music works, we've checked it. Why do you think I am assuming something?

"We wouldn't have released it if the music did not work :)"

this sounded for me like an assumption, but i may have translated it wrong. thanks for the confirmation.

Don't worry, just know that I can look up if a game had any specific issues such as music not working or other bugs. In short, I do not need to assume unless it's about something very, very specific about a very specific version of a game or something of the sort :)

Also, I try to use "I assume..." in a sentence if I am assuming :)

drealmer7: sweet!
Indeed!

Grargar: I'd bet an emulated version
If it runs ok, fine. The Turok re-release was something to see, much like the Powerslave one will be, I bet.
And 3DO games (company, console), emulated... not a bad deal at all. Return Fire, Army Men and many, many others would add more spice to Retroism's already amazing games, I say! :)
So what engine does this game use? Does it have a DirectX or OpenGL mode?
Though it does have a problem of not having sound effects n game (Music and the sounds in the main menu work.)
for me at any rate.

TodaysLoneWolf: This one looks pretty good; out of the 100+ GOG games that I have spanning Windows and Mac what I'm missing is a good, fast-paced flying shooter. I've never tried the Uprising series but looking at my wishlist I have UR1 bookmarked but not purchased. I'll purchase both UR1+2 this weekend and spend the weekend on my VM.

rampancy: Have you tried the Incoming series from Rage Software? At least the first game pretty much runs out of the box in WINE.
I saw it. I think I'll bookmark that for the weekend as well. Thanks for the advice.

So the game has sound effect issues? What OS are you using?

You should make a post in the Uprising series forum. Maybe they can help you out.
Never got to play it back in the day... but the screenshot make me think of Antaeus Rising.

Matruchus: I wonder if gog could get Nemesis of the Roman Empire that is available at Retroisms website.
Wow, that looks good and reminds me a bit of Age of Empires. Does it play as good as it looks?
