lostwolfe: is there hidden drm that we need to be aware of?
Unfortunately, you won't be able to play the game without the original disc case, since the back of the case shows you a codec frequency you have to... wait, I think I got this mixed up...
Seriously though, I was able to install and start the game without an active internet connection. I realize you probably only brought this up in order to put pressure on GOG for the Hitman release, but I'm leaving this info here in case anyone reads that comment and genuinely holds off buying the game because they're worried the GOG version might feature DRM:
So far, I haven't noticed any DRM and given the history of this developer, I have no reason to assume that the game does feature DRM of any kind. If I run afoul of anything down the line, I'll add it to this post.
ssling: I take it's MGS parody mostly? Will you lose a lot without knowing MGS?
Just judging by what I've seen in the demo, I'd say knowledge of MGS (or MGS-related memes at least, like the main character's voice acting) is probably helpful, but as long as you've seen a bunch of cheesy 80s/90s action movies and tv series, you're probably gonna get plenty of jokes and references. Like how the intro mentions the main character was
taken prisoner in 1972 for a crime he didn't commit.
