Adventure gaming meets Roger Rabbit.

Toonstruck, the adventure game take on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, is now available DRM-free for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux on GOG.com!

You're Drew Blanc (Christopher Lloyd) - you're an artist, the cartoon kind. But you're also kind of at your wits' end. Your inspiration is gone and you've unfortunately been living up to your name, that's until something-or-other causes you to get sucked into a cartoon world in need of a champion. Toonstruck is a classic point and click adventure with the spirit of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It's real-world footage in a finely animated, saturday-morning cartoon universe that gets a bit too silly - a little too grown-up, a little dangerous.

Get pulled straight into an adventure across a beautifully animated cartoon world, Toonstruck is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com!
A cartoony adventure game from 1996? With Christopher Lloyd and Tim Curry? Wow! Wishlisted for sure! I've never heard about this game before, thanks for bringing it here GOG!

JudasIscariot: Note I said "for a while" :P I know full well what will happen after "for a while" :P
Pitchfork sharpening?
For anyone who's interested, here's PushingUpRoses' review of Toonstruck.
Ooooh, what an awesome and wonderful surprise release! Loved this game back in the day, I thought for sure this would be stuck in legal rights limbo hell for eternity. But how the hell did it end up in Interplay's hands? Ah well, never you mind that now, it's fantastic to see Toonstruck here on Gog! :-)
First of all - THANK YOU so much for finally releasing this amazing game. It went under the radar when it first came out, but those lucky of us who came across it remembered about it till this day and asked numerous times for digital release. And here it finally is (and so cheap too!) :)

Secondly - I have a question to GOG team. Can you tell us which side reached out to the other regarding this release? Ie. was it you, GOG, who contacted Keith Arem, rights owner, and discussed/negotiated the whole deal or was it the other way around? Few of us, Toonstruck fans, has already asked Keith on twitter if that means Toonstruck 2 is on the way and he said "Good news on the way!", so we can safely assume that either remastered version of Toonstruck is being worked on (possibly with stuff that didn't make it to final version of original game) or that actual Toonstruck 2 is being/will be produced :)

So, who was it - was it you guys who convinced Arem that it's time Toonstruck should get some exposure or was it him who came to you? (I'm pretty sure you were the first ones to reach out to him few years ago already, but obviously it was a "no-go" back than. I would like to know who contacted who this time around)

Thanks again!

There's a lot more than just them. Almost like a who's who of the best voice actors. If you don't know them by name you'll know them by their massive work. Even the sadly-missed Dom Deluise is there.

Not only this, the German translation has high ranking speakers too, I finished both versions multiple times and they are equally excellent.

I really wonder how it got here, I'd be very interested to hear the story behind this awesome release.
Awesome release, thanks GOG!

I was fortunate enough to have played it when it was released and throughout the years I have been telling fellow point'n'click aficionados how great this game was and I am always greeted with the same remark "You're crazy, I would have heard about such a game with a cast like that!" But here it is now, for everyone to hold and behold

Erich_Zann: Nail, meet head.
Killer release indeed.

Deal. You just got yourself one week respite to get Warlords 2 + 3 & the complete SSI catalogue.

JudasIscariot: Who is SSI?

:P
Hah hah hah, DIIEEEEE!! ;-)
avatar
JudasIscariot: Depends on the game, really, as there's no singular factor that determines whether a game would be a good fit in our catalogue :)

Experiment513: So, just being old isn't a good qualification? :-P
In case you have an old rare classic that many won't remember, I think you should put it on the community wishlist to at least remind people of its existence.

I've been known to also drop GOG an email over the support form asking for certain games, threatening to bomb their country for it not being here (yeah I'm annoying). So far that yielded the Ultima series and probably Heroes of Might and Magic, but no Dark Sun shattered lands/wake of the ravager.

Fever_Discordia: Actually looking at the list here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Interactive
There's not a whole lot that's not either trash or has already turned up from another source, especially if you discount anything that says '(Europe Only)' as that's going to be a regional distribution dealy
EXCEPT ooh, ooh Floor 13!

I've heard good things about that one...

LOL yeah, I guess!
Probably be the bookie's favorite anyway...

amcdermo: That list is either inaccurate or there's two divisions. At least one game was published by Virgin Games that I'd consider a gem: KGB.

Excellent game with very few votes on the community wishlist. http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/kgb_aka_conspiracy

So I was sitting at my PC at work when all of a sudden I got this strange urge to check GOG (yes, AGAIN for the tenth time this day) and I saw a long lost familiar face.
Toonstruck, oh Toonstruck.
And since I'm not allowed to enter personal passwords at work, I was patiently waiting for my shift to end. But! I did not expect my boss to call a mandatory team building for today (bosses are always bastards like this) and when I got home, I could barely walk, let alone remember Toonstruck.
But now, NOW, You are mine once again Toonstruck. ALL MINE(insert evil laugh of your own preference).
The is an awesome release! Will be bought as soon as the tides change in my bank account.
I am pleased to see this coming here!

I have it for long, but sitting in my room, shelf.. Frist impresssions, nice mix of FMV quality and cartoons, also Christopher Lloyd - Doc from Back to the Future, same voice actor for the French version BTW, ROCKS!

I own the CD and an "abandonware" installer, now I will buy this game AGAIN "officially" here; too.. Someday!
What a great release, I remember this though I only played the demo and never got my hands on the full version. Wishlisted!
I am very happy to see this game on GOG, here's to hoping Disney takes leads and releases their Disney interactive titles from the 90's such as the Hercules games, the Lucas Art games are good to but stop hiding away that gem.
