Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is now available on GOG!

Whether you’re a long-time fan of the tough as nails archeologist or a newcomer to the series, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is the perfect opportunity to (re)discover Lara Croft’s original adventures, now lovingly restored. This definitive collection will allow you to play the original three Tomb Raider adventures with all expansions and secret levels.

The Remastered Collection includes:

Tomb Raider I + The Unfinished Business Expansion

Tomb Raider II + The Golden Mask Expansion

Tomb Raider III + The Lost Artifact Expansion

Within those timeless classics you’ll be uncovering treasures of the ancient world by solving puzzles and unraveling mysteries lost to the ravages of time. It’s a globe-trotting adventure, where you follow Lara Croft facing off against deadly foes and dangerous myths.

All of that with upgraded graphics, but also with the option to switch to the original polygon look at any time.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, out now!

foad01: Nope. The first game initially had a male character. They replaced a male protagonist with a female protagonist. We just have now a term to describe this situation. These games were woke before people knew it. LOL.

Yeshu: Having a female character is not woke.
This.
I don't see a single reason to buy the so-called "remaster".

The graphics remain almost the same. They want $30 for a 30-YEAR-OLD games? Are you kidding?

You can get even better graphics with mods - and it's FOR FREE.

The industry should stop making "lazy" remasters with 2000 year outdated graphics, and gamers should stop buying this bullshit. This is a new form of fraud.

Breja: Ask and you shall be given (a fan film, not a game, but it's still damn good, and has an even better sequel).
Thanks! I didn't know abot these yet.

And I think gamers should stop listening to russian propaganda, yes, I do!
I'm waiting for the Rise and Shadow. Never been into the old Lara games. :)
I didn't care about this remaster but now it really appeals me, as I never found the courage to play the vanilla versions without spending hours to fix them on modern systems.

amok: £25 for three games with the expansionn = £8.33 for each game with its expansions

seems fair to me
That is always going to be subjective for some.

Me, I own the originals on disc and then again at GOG.

Those game have more than made their developing costs over the years and then some.

And paying so highly for a remaster is sending the wrong message and encouraging more to do so, so it's not just about these three games. There is a principle at stake, and it's not about how affluent you are, so that money is no object. Artificial inflation of price is just that.

Almost the same???

You need check your eyes.
I, for one, really appreciate this remaster, as the originals run like shit on my system as the first two are unplayable due to the first game just keeps spinning the menu items around, and the second the buttons won't work, just the direction pads/sticks…

Besides, it also allows for playing in the original graphics/sound/frame rate. ⇐ That last bit is odd, as my fps counter says it's 144 fps, yet it looks like they baked in th3 30 fps for the original view!
avatar
king_kunat: Hey all! Many of you have already noticed, but just to confirm – the bug regarding the saves has been fixed in the latest 1.01 version that we’ve rolled out after the release. You should now enjoy Lara’s adventures hassle-free. Apologies for the initial hiccup!
May I ask if your QA was on vacation while you tested this new release without Galaxy to make sure that everything works all right?

avatar
CMiq: Apparently they still snuck in a bit of censorship, with a naked pin-up lady missing from the back of Pierre DuPont's jacket?
Anybody can confirm?
avatar
mdqp: I haven't seen it in-game myself, but there are videos online and one showed the difference (yes they gave the lady a bikini). I wish they would have kept the original in, at least. While I don't think it's a big deal either way, I can at least understand why they would want her covered in the remastered graphics, however the original has been around for almost 30 years now, so it's a rather silly change.
Probably because it is now in line with the absolute ridiculous warning message at the beginning.

Very cool :D Thank you for the link. I hope we see a similar collab for Angel of Darkness when the time comes. The TR-Community has made some insanely good overhauls of said game like https://www.traodde.com/. I hope for the best and a big thank you to everyone involved with this beautiful remaster. Love you guys :D Cheers

Let me summarize for those of you who don't click links. The remasters where created by the guy who created OpenLara, which has been praised in this forum as one of the reasons for not buying these. He was allowed to assemble a group of fans and they were entrusted with the source code and over the past eight years have worked on these remasters culminating in this release. A labor of love if ever there was one. Hopefully they were paid something a little more substantial than love. :-)
It casts a rather harsh light on all those complainers calling this a mere cash grab, and makes me feel much happier with Aspyr, who seem to have done a great job with this one.
Thanks for the info!
