Desmight: This game's aesthetic has always reminded me of the original Syndicate, happy to see it landing on GOG

gamesfreak64: Exactly my first thought when i watched the videos , this version is more lifelike but the motions are too much ... so i skip this one ( too much rotating) and the requirements are quite high.

I see many new games arriving which is a good thing, but i would love to see more old classic games like the many i already own, real classic ( 2d ofcourse, no 3d/fpp and the likes) i know there are dozens of 'abandoned' games around that probably never arrive here (: (sad face)

Anyway there is always hope old games will arrive again and more then a handfull, dozens would be nice this way there will be a nice game for everyone.
I remember a guy from GOG's staff during an interview saying that once it took up to 4 years of negotiation to get some very old games released here, so I'd never lose hope in more classic releases, we don't know what's happening behind the scenes :D

Themken: Do all Japanese games look like they were made for weak mobiles and those old handheld gaming thingies that existed before the modern powerful mobile phone?
No. :)
After the whole ripoff hoax (https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/08/blatant-clone-or-marketing-hoax-the-curious-case-of-tokyo-41-and-tokyo-42/), I dropped this game off my radar permanently. Pass.

I thought it was funny, original and well done.

And no matter what PR stunts - the game is still very good, so I would say it is more your loss than anything else.

edit: and speaking of PR stunts gone wrong...

I was hoping this would eventually show up here. I purposely waited to buy it until it found a DRM free release. Thanks. I will be getting this today.

Syndi-cat. :)
I couldn't watch the trailer for more than 20 seconds because the song was atrociously irritating

Sorry for jumping to the conclusion that a game set in Tokyo was made in Japan.
Am I the only one who was thinking that the characters in the game are just really tiny and hard to see. I wonder if there is a good zoom function included. Then again ... maybe it's just my eyes and the fact that I don't own a big monitor....

Looks interesting but not for me anyway ... though I like the "Cat" part :)

There is a zoom function included but the character may still be a bit small for some.

hmm... and you straight away would assume that a game like Metal Gear would be made by Americans? Or Resident Evil 5 by Afrikaans?

Unfamiliar with those games even if I have seen the names before. It is all too easy to make life easy for oneself and quickly put things into the boxes where one thinks they belong. After all, we are all flooded with data and cannot go through it all thoroughly. Strictly speaking, it should not matter where a game was made.

indeed.... so why bring it up?

Because I was prejudiced and did not think through what I wrote before posting.

Honesty – ain't it just the most beautiful thing? :)

I'm quite intrigued by this game, and so far I haven't felt like gaming at all this year.
