Child's play.

This War of Mine: The Little Ones DLC, which explores how kids manage to stay kids amidst the ugliness of war, is available now for Windows, Mac and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 10% launch discount.

War never changes but neither do kids. Between the hardships, the surrounding madness, the everyday struggle to remain hopeful - somehow kids never lose their spirit. The Little Ones are also the reason why most adult survivors keep going, but to provide and care for them you first need to think like them. To them, a teddy bear with both eyes intact could be more important than a maggot-free loaf of bread. A smile and a hug might worth more than a box of painkillers. You need to make the hard decisions and adjust your priorities if you want your shelter to become a place where The Little Ones can find some semblance of safety and comfort.

Take care of the The Little Ones struggling to survive this bombed life, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The discount will last until June 30, 1:59 PM UTC.

Sounds like an interesting way to change up the dynamics of the game. Can the kids also work, like your children in Sheltered? Or all they completely dependent?

And hey, you kids stay offa my minefield!
This looks like it might be worth picking up at some point. This game can be heart wrenching enough as it is. Adding children to the mix potentially adds a whole new dynamic.

Do you have the option of playing as a child?

Edit: Based on the screen shots, yes.

Based on the screen shots, it looks like the kids can make toys and things to play with.

But I want the little bastards to do chores. Gotta pull their weight! ;)
I think I’ve just found the perfect bait for that damn sniper. Hey, Jimmy! I've got a game for you! Run to that fountain over there. No, you have to run, remember? Those are the rules.

This War of Mine: The Sweatshop DLC
This sounds like a very interesting DLC. Unfortunately it's regionally priced (with higher price points than the base price) and so I won't buy it.
10% off - 1€
Fair Price Package - 1€

So basically no sale price. XP
Didn't get much into this anyway, and this extension seems too politically-correct from what I got.

This is one of those games that the devs have deliberately locked gog customers out of modding by tying everything to Steam workshop, right? Well, they can fuck right off then.

Ha! I also want to take one of those geodesic dome monkeybar setups from the local playground and turn it into a Thunderdome for the kids. :D

Fairfox: How so? Imma interested.
Well it's same old same old when kids are in the mix: they're invulnerable.

In my opinion it removes any interest it could have had in This War of Mine.

So much for gritty realism and lasting emotional drama then.
