Child's play.

This War of Mine: The Little Ones DLC, which explores how kids manage to stay kids amidst the ugliness of war, is available now for Windows, Mac and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 10% launch discount.

War never changes but neither do kids. Between the hardships, the surrounding madness, the everyday struggle to remain hopeful - somehow kids never lose their spirit. The Little Ones are also the reason why most adult survivors keep going, but to provide and care for them you first need to think like them. To them, a teddy bear with both eyes intact could be more important than a maggot-free loaf of bread. A smile and a hug might worth more than a box of painkillers. You need to make the hard decisions and adjust your priorities if you want your shelter to become a place where The Little Ones can find some semblance of safety and comfort.

Take care of the The Little Ones struggling to survive this bombed life, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The discount will last until June 30, 1:59 PM UTC.

Zoidberg: 10% off - 1€
Fair Price Package - 1€

So basically no sale price. XP
Didn't get much into this anyway, and this extension seems too politically-correct from what I got.
I got the game at a sales hee on GoG, cause everyone was so positive about it.
The charcoal effect, the moving, the effects are too much for my eyes, so i wont buy the DLC (which is a bit overpriced imho : 9.99 thats almost half, and for 9.99 you can buy a very good standalone game)

And finally: i cant get used to the menus that have been rotated a little, why cant the menu be like a piece of paper thats not turned.

check attachment: i rotated the menuscreen and removed some stuff, now the menu is normally postioned, on a paper without me having to turn my head x degrees to be able to clearly read the menu :D
Imho the menu should have been postioned straight instead of rotating it

Zoidberg: Well it's same old same old when kids are in the mix: they're invulnerable.
Are you sure about that? It wouldn't make much sense for such a game.

docbear1975: This game can be heart wrenching enough as it is.
That's exactly the reason I avoided it although at first I found it very interesting. Now with the kids DLC it makes things even more difficult for me, especially when the children start dying left & right.

A game about the horrors of war?

Sure, kids never get hurt...

Agreed. Not sure I can handle the DLC but I will get it and have a go. It is a very emotional game. I wish they would add other options for interactions though like going to a location and helping the people there by giving them things.

I always wanted to help the old couple.

The DLC is 10% off at present, yes it is quite expensive at around 50% of the full game.... ouch.

They still leave you, so at least it's still the same on a technical side.

I'm really not bothered if I'm not going to see an adorable child die because of my wrong doing (which happens a lot in this game). It's a minor flaw, not a serious one.
Finally! I bought it as soon as I saw it was finally on here :D
That's indeed unfortunate and a strange decision for a game that deals with the horrors of war. I'm not really keen on seeing little kids die, but in this game it would have made a lot of sense.

According to some interviews/previews, the game will never actually kill a child.

THat's the point though. You don't want to see a kid die. You want to help them live. Knowing that they won't die (even when they're a little bundle of pixels) takes a lot of the actual tension of out trying to help them survive. They're nothing more than shelter buffs at this juncture. I don't understand this decision at all.

Thanks for the info! :)
The first game still haunts me sometimes, a little snippet of music.... a sound.... all brings back that experience. I can say that I only played thru to liberation once (with 5 fails) and had no desire to go thru those feelings again. Adding children to the next installment I can only imagine will increase those feelings of dread and desperation..... not sure if I could handle that but I applaud the devs for their creativity. its a brilliant game
I cant decide which is worse, the fact this game exists or the idea I find it interesting to try out.
