Battle your way through enemies in a grim pixel art world.
Genre: Action, Adventure, RPG
Discount: 10% off until 26th September 2022, 5 PM UTC.
Really dig the art and animations and how the general play appears.

Don't dig the "[this]isn't a typical action-adventure game. It's for players that value a serious challenge and searching for answers on their own". Add difficulty settings to your games! And that second half makes it sound like the game is obtuse and unexplained for no good reason.

(Which, BTW, gogblues -- that doesn't have alt-text like it should.)

And I have the opposite opinion.

I'm glad they don't cater. Not every game is for all people.
Definitely looks interesting, and after quick research it seems it's a 25-30 hours game, which is great.

I'm not sure about the text on top either. I really don't like not being able to finish games because of difficulty getting too frustrating to bear, I really hope that's not the case here.

If a game is too difficult you can always download a cheat table from Fearless Revolution forums. Just as long as you don't download their stupid app. I highly recommend getting the latest cheat engine program. In fact, there is already a cheat table for this game (1.0) and it just came out. Because of that, I may now consider buying it. Cheat Engine has helped me to finish games I liked but otherwise would have put down long ago. It's not always a game genie - you don't always have god mode available. But you may get a bunch of options that assist and can make the journey less difficult. Or if you're a masochist, you can use the program to make the game even tougher.

Think about it. We spend our hard earned money on these things, so we should be able to play them the way we want to. I guarantee most developers don't care as long as you're not cheating in online modes and as long as you legally paid for the game.

For some reason I never heard about that engine. I used cheats in games that have them built in of course on more than one occasion, though many don't have them built in. Subterrain comes to mind, a somewhat niche game that I played at one point and dropped because final bosses (actually there are two of them) were simply impossible to beat. Well, I mean of course people beat them and I tried looking at yt videos and guides but in the end I said f*ck it and dropped it after spending solid 20 hours or so getting to that point.

Thanks for the recommendation, it may come in handy in some of games I didn't finish.

EDIT. I just checked and it seems Subterrain actually does have a working cheat console now. I could swear it didn't have it when it came out and I played it. Huh, the more you know.

Put your favorite afghan coat on and slash starting?
How is exploration in this game? Is it linear or a lot to explore?
looks great!
But there is a light
It lacks the Supporter Pack that is on sale in other stores, the game wasn't available for pre-order on GOG so we lost the exclusive DLC, and lastly no Galaxy achievements.
It doesn't bode well for future support of the game on this platform, too bad because it looked interesting.

^ This, games with oppressive difficulty just for difficulty's sake are not gonna keep the lights on in your company, as only elite gamers will flock to your games, and not a wider demographic; I'm talking about actual game balance, as games that are too easy are just as unbalanced as ones that are oppressively difficult…

I'm of course speaking in general, as I never played this game, but from the description, it looks like it's a narrow field of gamers that this game is going for.

well
Dark Souls and Elden Ring have sold fairly well
despite some players calling these games quite difficult
Then again measuring the tipping point of what can be called oppressive difficult can be hard as it varies from person to person

Qoute :

When it comes to hard games, the Dark Souls series is probably the most infamous of them all. Because of that, it gets a lot of backlash from people saying things about it that are not necessarily true. A lot of people dislike the game, but it has a massive following of loyal fans.

All the time I see different people saying that the game is impossible to beat, and sometimes I see people saying that it’s so easy. In reality, the game is in the middle. It is not too hard or too easy. Dark Souls is one of those games that, with a lot of patience and learning, you will be able to get through it.
Dark Souls is notorious for just throwing a new player directly into the game without telling them where to go and what to do. A lot of people are not a huge fan of this because they like a game that they can just sit down, relax, and play without having the trouble and adrenaline rush of certain games.

Dark Souls 3 concluded the trilogy and was released in Japan in March 2016 and in the west a couple of weeks later for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Dark Souls 3 sold over 3 million copies in the first month alone. By May 2020, the game had sold over 10 million copies worldwide across all platforms.

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have officially confirmed Elden Ring has already sold over 12 million copies globally across all gaming platforms. This includes both physical and digital sales made of March 14.

Dont have recent sales data
