Great !!! :D
The base game is already really good, I was really waiting for this :)
So wait, is this the same universe as X-Morph Defense? How on Earth did humanity survive?
Nice. I liked the demo of the main game. Maybe I should get it "soon".
Since this dev still gives no Achievements to their GOG customers even though they do give Achievements to their S**** customers, I will have to continue to boycott them due to their treatment of GOG customers as second-class citizens who only get feature-removed versions of their games.
Cool.

Will we ever see Zombie Driver HD here? Pwetty pwease? *big puppy eyes*
Does the original Riftbreaker have a skirmish mode or random maps?

While X-Morph has a couple of skirmish scenarios Riftbreaker does not. The closest to skirmish is a survival mode with randomized events. Maps are procedurally generated and resource distribution is also randomized for the main game.

In Riftbreaker, is survival mode related to the main campaign? Or can the player generate a separate map?

Survival is an extra mode not related to the main campaign. The answer to your second question is yes. With the official map editor you can do it. In the game itself you have to start new campaigns until you find one that's working for you. Once you found one you like you can also share the seed for it.

So it sounds like survival mode is similar to a skirmish mode. Is it immediately available or does it have to be unlocked?

Yes, it is immediately available from the main menu. You will start out with tropical zone and once you beat it on any of the available difficulty levels, other zones/biomes will be unlocked.
