Is the save system similar to Fallout 3?

StingingVelvet: This was DRM free on Epic, so not a surprise to see it here right away. I have it there, but I'll rebuy it in a deep sale someday probably.

If you expect New Vegas in space, you'll be disappointed. However if you expect an "indie Bethesda game" with a smaller scope, you'll probably enjoy it a good bit.
I think the 50 percent off the base game is a pretty good deal. But seeing as there is one more DLC to come out, I got the season pass on Epic for very cheap because of a coupon, and the game is DRM free on epic (though I noticed the comment saying the first DLC needs the client to run), I will wait for all the DLC to launch and an bundled sale (Just like the metro Exodus bundle that was here at GOG.) for everything, assuming I buy it again at all. I am glad it is here though.

I will check to see if the DLC requires the Epic client to run next month. I am nearing my band width cap so have to wait. I have not tried the DLC yet either so might as well give it a go. I can comment back here to see if it is DRM free as well.

I suspect that it was a case of using the net short cut that the Epic client makes linking it to the client. Some GOG games do this as well. I will investigate further. I would definitely be disappointed if DRM was added to the DLC at the Epic store. It seems like an odd decision.

Is anyone able to comment if the Steam version is DRM free or not?

For those who have not purchased the game else where it is definitely worth grabbing here.

To the best of my recollection. Yes.

I got the season pass on Epic for $15 because of those $10 coupons Epic always give out, so not too bothered by the GOG version coming right after. With Control I do wish I waited on the DLC, because I paid almost what the GOG complete version cost.

That is the same coupon I was referring to. It was a hell of a deal and made the season pass worth it.

That is the thing. Once all the DLC are out and they make the definitive edition or the complete edition then usually they are bundled for a much cheaper price. Not to mention gog is pretty good about launch sales when a game comes over from another store front.

I expect to see the Outer Worlds bundle on a sale in a year or so . Once that other DLC drops. I dont really have any issue with Epic. For the most part it has been reliably better with major titles being DRM free than Steam has over all. I can think of a few on Steam that were DRM free and then that was dropped. Shrug.

Well, that bundle is available on Steam and Epic Game Store right now (base game + season pass + soundtrack), and it's also on sale with the base game. That's why many people don't understand why it isn't also available through GOG.
Why does it say release like this game was just release? I got this game free with video card purchase back in February. I haven't played it yet but had a choice between this one and Borderland 3. Since this had people that worked on Fallout working on this I definitely chose this game over Borderlands. Did I have an early access or something?
Holding off from playing TOW for a bit, my keybinds aren't being implemented nor saved. :(
I got the Microsoft game pass deal when they offered 3 months for $1. I got it to play this game, which I played a ton. Four full playthroughs with different styles and difficulties. Best dollar I've spent. I did not want to buy it on those other two stores. I might have bought it on a deep deep sale when it finally released on the big store.

I did not expect it to release here. So here you go Obsidian, instabought. I still need to play the expansion. Hopefully I can import my saves, otherwise playthrough number 5.

+1 for the OST
+1 for Alpha Protocol

PS - Thanks GOG!

When are the South Park Games coming to GOG.com? That's Obsidian, too! Also Outer Wilds please!

Thank you GOG for allowing us to download games without a client! I use my phone data for internet, so I love you!

Only The Stick of Truth was developed by Obsidian. And both games are published by Ubisoft. So forget it.

It just released on GOG. GOG getting games late happens a lot.

fronzelneekburm: Lol, that was fast.

wolfsite: Now to get Alpha Protocol from Obsidian here as well :)

fronzelneekburm: Isn't Alpha Protocol published by SEGA? Not that I would have anything against SEGA joining the gog family, but I assume SEGA have something against joining the gog family (despite some 50% of their games - including Alpha Protocol!) being DRM-free on Steam anyway).
Sonic Adventure DX was DRM free on steam. Didn't think to back it up and it's no longer DRM free. They don't understand how to use DRM, which seems to be the only reason why they're DRM free. Once they find out, they fix it.

Wasn't it EGS-Exclusive for the longest time?

Crap, should've backed this one up as well! Thanks for the info! At least I backed up Condemned and Alpha Protocol.
