The Occupation is now available DRM-free.

Your role is to uncover evidence as a journalist by sneaking through restricted areas and questioning people on their actions through a series of one-on-one interviews. All this takes place in a detailed, systems-driven world where people will react to your actions and where time is your biggest enemy.

Mawthra: The price IS a bit steep for a 5 hour game... shame, I will definitely buy, but will wait for a sale on this one

MarkoH01: Is the 5 hours playtime confirmed?
I read several reviews earlier today before I knew it was coming to GOG and they all said it's about a 5 hour experience

LynetteC: Why are achievements so important? Serious question - I've never understood the appeal of them.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: In other words, it's also a matter of principle in objecting to how many/most devs think it's okay not to give GOG customers equal treatment as they do to their Steam customers. Why do GOG users deserve less? The dollars that the devs collect from them aren't worth less.
I do think it's somewhat crappy when if a game is on Steam and GOG and the Steam version has Cloud Saves and Achievements and the GOG version doesn't and you're paying the same price... that doesn't feel too good... felt that way after I bought Mana Spark here on GOG... love the game, but no Cloud Saves or Achievements on GOG and Steam has them both

Alexim: For a game that costs 30€ I would like to see the full implementation of the achievements.
Anyway the concept is very interesting.

Well, first of all on GOG they are a good way to measure the commitment of developers on a given game.
Also, whether someone like them or not, I think it's right in principle that a game should have the same features everywhere, if the platform allows it.

And all games are about achieving a goal, having the achievements adds new and sometimes very challenging ones.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: 1. Because they add goals to achieve and humans are psychologically inclined to like achieving goals.
Addition: I think one important thing is also that you are able to show others that you achived said goals by unlocking such achievements (which are shown in your profile). Otherwise you could just set youself random additional goals and try to "achieve" those.

While it’s a comparatively short game, everything interconnects in a way that adds more substance to the experience as a whole. [...] My comprehensive playthrough took a little over 20 hours[.]

That sounds much more like it. Thank you :)
Whether you chose to break into a office through the window, find an ID card or pull the power to the room, we designed the world to accommodate your choice, approach and need to interact with objects you may or may not need for your research.
I like the Deus Ex (or the more recent Dishonored) vibe it seems to have and i guess it should provide a different experience during another playthrough. Also, i'm not sure if i've ever played another game of this type with fixed time objective; does anyone know any?

Now, just by looking at the screenshots, I KNOW my PC doesn't run it. But I still immediately bought the game, White Paper Games developed one of my favourite games in recent memory, Ether One, so this is a note of thanks and the support I'm able to give them.

Also, I kind of want to help GOG, too, and these have been extremely slow days, with no releases I'm interested in at all, so I'm buying a game I care about from a developer I respect, at full price.

Happy gaming! :)

Me neither, I guess it's catered towards completionists.

In most cases it's only a cheap way to artificialy inflate the time it takes to complete a game, just like only give enemies more hp on so-called "hard mode".

The Last Express is one that comes to mind - time is really important in this one as well.

2. Because GOG customers who don't hate Achievements do not appreciate being treated like second-class citizens by the many/most devs who can't be bothered to add Achievements to the GOG versions of their games even though they could and did be bothered to add Achievements to the same identical games on Steam.

In other words, it's also a matter of principle in objecting to how many/most devs think it's okay not to give GOG customers equal treatment as they do to their Steam customers. Why do GOG customers deserve less? The dollars that the devs collect from them aren't worth less, so neither should the products that they receive have features omitted from them.
No achievement != second class citizens. These achievements are something that added at later stage of game development or perhaps during post-development. That's why they vary with each platform. I don't think purist should pay too much attention to achievements or lack thereof.
Seriously?
Dat regional pricing...
