Dance your demons away.

UPDATE: The holidays are just around the corner, so let's turn it dancing, shall we? The free Deck the Dubstep DLC is a single-song pack with a track by Andross and some festive secrets hidden inside. Come on, everyone, time to shake our belly like a bowl full of jelly!

The Metronomicon, a rhythm-based RPG where you and your party dungeon-crawl in sync, is available now for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Disco is not dead, it just dwells in the strangest of places. Like inside neon-bathed dungeons, full of musically-empowered monsters described in the mysterious Metronomicon. Eight unlikely heroes will venture there, ready to deliver tone-death, grab as much loot as they can carry, and then awkwardly dance away to the next level. Apart from synchronizing their moves to the amazing, fully-licenced soundtrack, they can draw from a vast selection of devastating spells, buffs, and items in order to heal their teammates or nuke the rhythm-mongering creatures that stand in their way. Fix yourself an eccentric hairdo and get your groove going, because when dancing is a matter of life and death, stage fright is not an option.

Become the rockstar of a dungeon full of arrhythmic monsters waiting to out-dance you, in The Metronomicon, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Devs will keep doing this until players start voting with their wallets. I've just kicked the game out of my wishlist.

moonshineshadow: Well it is a nice game. Quite hard or I'm just bad at it, your choice ;-)
All in all I had fun playing it, only annoying thing were some levels where enemies let boulders fall which are hiding what you need do play.
Thanks! I received a nice long review via PM from another GOGlodyte and it sounds like the game is not for me. It appears to do what some folks were worried about, namely force you to split your attention between the rhythm matching and what the characters are doing. There are ways to do this right in a game, but it sounds like this one doesn't do it well. Factoring in the immediate cash-grab DLC means this game has no hold on my wallet now.
Off topic:

There is advertising in the video.
Could you please remove it? Thanks.

Ridiculous DLC policy. Clear no-buy for me, although I love one of the main themes, which almost made me get the game at full price.

If only there was an easier, stress-free mode or something. And yeah, it seems the devs are jumping on the DLC train pretty quick.

Same here.
The weekly Metronomicon DLC release? These guys are on track to beat even Paradox. *sigh*

tremere110: Any chance of the soundtrack coming here?
Hi there, I'm one of the musicians who had a song featured in this DLC Pack (Chiptune Challenge Pack #2). My song is called 'Challenge'. I am not sure if the developer plans to release a soundtrack for this game or not. But if you like my track from this DLC, you can find on my chiptune album 'Genesis' (track #4) available on Bandcamp here: https://chronowolf.bandcamp.com/album/genesis.

I also also a member of the GOG.com Twitch channel stream team and it was a great honor to stream this game and this DLC last night on the channel.
This game looks so interesting to me, but just watching the release trailer video here and I KNOW there's no way I'd be able to hang LOL.

I'm not even that awful at twitch / rhythm games (operative word: that) but I'd never survive this one.

Fun fact - I LOVED the karaoke portions of Sleeping Dogs. Great, underrated game by the way.
Seriously?
More dlc already?

On stream the interviewed developer (Danny) was of the impression that the soundtrack was available on GOG and was confused when told it was not. He said it was something they would ask why and rectify.

Thanks for the info.
Looks like it was rectified. The soundtrack is finally here!
DLCs done wrong, the next chapter. Afaik the sound files where already accessible somewhere in the game's folder structure. So offering a soundtrack DLC without lossless encoded tracks is probably just the second best option.
