In a galaxy too far away...

UPDATE: Any eventful space jaunt needs some sweet music to give it that extra emotional punch, and this is exactly what the 25 tracks inside the Official Soundtrack are here for.

The Long Journey Home, the thrilling space exploration adventure of a mismatched crew, is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.

Stranded light years away from home, your group of incompatible individuals must work together to find a way back, through procedurally generated galaxies and intriguing RPG mechanics. Meet over twelve alien races and use your skills and smarts to negotiate hundreds of handwritten quests that could help you escape this uncharted corner of the galaxy.

Watch the trailer.

Interested in this... but $40? Star point Gemini Warlords sure but that game looks it. This one not so much - will wait for a bigger sale.

Also I hear bad things about landing sequences being too difficult during the beta. Hopefully that was improved on release.
Well, this is on my wishlist, but going to wait a bit for the inevitable patches and then I'll decide.
Didn't know about this game until recently and it looks amazing. I can certainly see myself supporting the devs and buying this sooner rather than later but I'd love to hear a few impressions before I take the plunge.

Anyone here going to be firing it up and want to give a few thoughts? Is it deep / satisfying / fun etc? No need to get too spoiler crazy but in games like this I like playability combined with a lot of different systems in place (research, upgrades, exploration - the "stories" part sounds full featured but I wouldn't mind a rundown on the depth of mechanics).

Check out the reviews on the game page. There's actually a couple that seem pretty well thought out.

Awesome thanks when I looked there was only one beta review but I'll go take a peek right now.

Hmmm, I thought I'd read two, but I guess my old age is kicking in. Was checking out three or four games, so guess my brain misfired. There's only the one beta review there. However, I do think that one's pretty fair-minded. Game sounds good to me, but as noted earlier, I'm going to wait for a few patches and see how buggy it really is before pulling the trigger.
looks really interesting, i like the emphasis on stories in the gameplay as well as other strategy stuff
A space game to watch for those quiet watches between stars.
Wishlisted for now.
Went on a limp and instabought this one, because Daedalic.
By the time I get to play it, I am sure it will be polished.
Shit, I didn't expect it to be that expensive.
Wishlisted for now...
So is this meant to be a rpg, simulation, or adventure or strategy primarily?. Havent seen the gameplay mentioned...
