You may know Lisbon as this picturesque, historical city at a three-hour driving distance to excellent wine. What you probably didn't know is that Lisbon also happens to be kind of an international hub for supernatural beings, living incognito among us. Overweight werewolf Dog Mendonça is one of them but he is also a professional problem solver, as is his strikingly unremarkable apprentice Eurico, the ex-pizzaboy. Or so he claims.

Regular folk may be unaware of the monsters living in their midst but that doesn't mean that the strange disappearances of supernatural citizens have gone unnoticed by these brave investigators of the occult. Under the dispassionate guidance of his hairy mentor, Eurico will once again team up with a millenia-old demon trapped in the body of a small girl and a whacky gargoyle that just can't seem to keep its head attached to its body. Together they will scour the Lisbon underworld for clues, persons of interest, and items not nailed to the ground in this point'n'click entry to the noir-ish comic book universe. Before they can crack this case open, however, they will have to crack some skulls and perhaps even the perceived boundaries of the material world.

I knew this would appear in here, judging from the quality of this stunning game.
Now, a buck for those (non spanish/portuguese speakers) who can say MENDONÇA the right way ;P

Mendonsa perhaps? I'm fluent in French though and that language has the same special character too...

However I did initially miss (=didn't see) the thingy under the c and read it as Mendonka instead the 1st time...

edit- Judas did you really have to ninja me? Oh well...

P.S. The game itself looks kind of interesting -will have to see what the comic its based on is about too...

Foda-se!!!

Buying it. Dog Mendonça & Pizzaboy is my favourite Portuguese comic (Filipe Melo, the creator/writer -- also a great pianist/composer, by the way -- is a personal friend, as well!), and I finally get to play a game in Portuguese (PT-PT, even!), since I know for a fact that Filipe himself worked on the localization for Portugal! :D

It should actually be "mên-dõ-sa". European Portuguese has next to no tonic syllables, when spoken.

Looks nice and I love point & clicks, but the price is a bit much, for what is other than graphics and genre a shot in the dark for me. Wishlisted for now.

Well, there's Detective Case and Clown Bot in: Murder in the Hotel Lisbon but i'm guessing you didn't play it beause it's not available on gog.

The portuguese translation for Unepic deserves to be mentioned, it was a pleasant surprise to see it as pt-pt.

Mmmm... I really like the looks of this, but I know I won't get around to playing it for a while, I've got too much else going on, and it's over $10 (not a complaint about the release price, just that's my general cutoff for impulse buys).

Like the artstyle, like the English voiceovers in the trailer... I may cave.

I'm really really really (pleasantly) surprised this showed up here.
As a backer.
In their last update, just this week, they'd only mentioned Steam.

Now I just hope they send me a GOG key.

I played a few games translated into PT-PT, I was just mentioning it's nice to have one based on a *huge* creation by a friend of mine available in here -- especially when he, himself, worked on the translation. There are a few games on GOG with PT-PT localization (Teslagrad is another one), but, yeah, Unepic managed to do it really well. I'm guessing it's because of having been made by a small Spanish studio, it's probably easier for them to have Portuguese friends doing the translation.

As for the "it's not available on GOG, so I guess you didn't play it", I'm not sure whether that was supposed to be some sort of joke or "personal attack", or what, but I can assure you that the fact I don't buy games on Steam doesn't necessarily mean I only play games that GOG sells. I played buttloads of old obscure adventures way before GOG was even a thing.

It wasn't any joke or personal attack, i only said that because i assumed you weren't aware of it since you sounded surprised for a portuguese game (or good translation of it), so, like i said, i assumed it was because there wasn't any version of it here (the game isn't really well known, the fact of not having a gog version doesn't help).
