Now on GOG!
Well, this is likely to ruffle some feathers.
And at least they added the "The" so it won't get confusing. But made me wonder how would GOG's system handle it if there would be two different games in the catalog with the exact same name.

These days preferring regular milk over chocolate milk will ruffle some feathers.

There are. The two Monolith games
So basically a Jesus who preferred Old Testament dad to New Testament dad.

Mordimer Madderdin
Does not roll off the tongue at all.

Games got an internal unique ID.
Unique to the point that you might not get update messages, if you own a preorder version, because that one got a different ID then all the other variants.

So no, the Database won't burn, maybe by little bobbies drop table. But not by this.

More interesting, is the game good or not.
It's been 14 years since I last read one of those books... it's fair to say my enthusiasm has waned considerably. And even back then they were pleasant enough time wasters, but nothing close to the Witcher (always an inevitable comparison). I guess I still harbor some residual curiosity about it, but not too much, as the game doesn't really look great in it's own right.

Sidenote: The trailers are in 480p? Really?

I seem to remember it's implied in one of the books that Jesus did die on the cross, and then his body was possessed by the Devil to do all the bloodthirsty stuff. Of course that idea is considered the worst kind of heresy.

Burn the Heretic! Kill the Mutant! Purge the Unclean!

Hm, wonder why they're entered like that though, since the cover art for the first one would name it "Monolith: After the End"
But talk about lazy. I mean, not a word of description for that one, just a link? What the hell?

Oh, books? That makes it somewhat interesting. Don't seem to have been translated though?
And yeah, the game looks really janky.

Not as far I know. I seem to recall a somewhat recent interview where the author mentioned something about a translation, but I can't remember exactly (I just skimmed through it) and can't find it again right now.

There's something like 14 books now? I'm not sure, I stopped reading when there 6, because after four years there was still no sign of the long promised resolution to a cliffhanger ending of the last book in the "main sequence", and instead the author started writing prequels, and then prequels to the prequels. But, ironically, never the one prequel he's been promising for years, the one about what actually happened at the Crucifixion.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about those books now, but as I remember them they were perfectly good and entertaining time-wasters, but nowhere near as good as The Witcher (an inevitable comparison even back then).

Sidenote: the old point & click Galador was co-written by the same author, and features in a supporting role a character from his other, very different and distictly more comedic short stories.

Instabuy, and yes, it is confusing, because this game pops up in my mind immediately :)

Seems to be in fashion these days:

https://www.mobygames.com/game/210185/lords-of-the-fallen/

The new game used to have "The" in the title, but apparently it got removed and now they are named exactly the same? To keep it non-confusing I guess....

Also Hitman. You have Hitman, Hitman 2, Hitman 3, Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: Absolution, Hitman, Hitman 2, Hitman 3.

Yes, they had subtitles, but everyone always referred to them with just the numbers. Makes it really convenient to look up info about a specific game....

I've noticed that a lot of the trailers on GOG's YouTube channel are lower-quality than the same trailers from other channels or sites. I wonder if that's GOG's fault, or YouTube's? (I could believe either.)
At least the latter is supposed to be a remake of the former, I guess...!?
But:

These haven't much in common, besides the title...
