timppu: I find this release thread very interesting, as I have no idea what this game (series) is and what are those earlier games in the series are that everyone mentions, but judging by the gamecard, I was expecting this to be some sleazy cheapo AO game selling on skin.
Instead of the expected "not this again, GOG! Where is your curation?" messages, I see praise and lots of messages as if people had been hoping this to be released more than System Shock 3 or The Witcher 4.
Or are you guys just pulling my leg (the middle one) and being sarcastic?!? I think I'll buy this anyway, just in case you guys are serious.
EDIT: Aaand... bought!
I saw your post too late but anyway ... you still have the option to refund if my description should make you change your mind.
The three games (Lust Epidemic / Treasure of Nadia / The Genesis Order) are telling three more or less different stories with a bigger ongoing story overarching all of them. So of course those who enjoyed the first two games want to see how the story continues which is one reason I was waiting for this.
When it comes to content: yes, they are all RPGM games but with a heavily modified engine. You will have a lot of actual gameplay (collecting items, collectibles and crafting materials - crafting items, solving puzzles) while going through the story. There's no combat involved however. The games all have an inbuild walkthrough (which is also part of the story) that is basically telling you were to go next ... without using it you might end up checking out every location again and again (and there are a lot of locations - especially in Treasure of Nadia and The Genesis Order ... not so many in Lust Epidemic) which might get boring after a while ... so use it whenever you feel like it. The game also is in part a bit metroidvania since you need to have certain items to be able to open certain chests and containers and paths. When it comes to playtime: I have now 8% completed and played >10 hours ... so there's that. However the game also has a lot of secret stuff to be found and discovered which also adds to the percentage.
The story itself is interesting - sometimes mysterious and sometimes funny and it takes its time to be told. There's only one thing you should not have a problem with: pretty unrealistic sexual encounters. Basically all women in the game "want" the MC and there are several moments in which the sex scenes seem to be quite unexpected ... also expect A LOT of those mixed into the story. The scenes itself are pretty well done. So if you don't expect a realistic story or characters and just want to have a fun time the game offers a lot :)
