It's time to celebrate the 14 years of making games last forever. We're doing that by releasing one of the most anticipated games by the community – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The game is widely considered one of the best video games of all time and has received credit for popularizing large open-world role-playing games. After many requests from our users and being released on almost every appliance that is able to run the game, the acclaimed RPG is available on GOG in two versions – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition (-50%) and Special Edition (-67%).

It is worth mentioning that Skyrim on GOG comes with a dedicated build, to give users the best possible adventure in Tamriel. The game is entirely playable offline thanks to GOG’s DRM-free nature and gives users the Anniversary Edition content without the need for Creation Club access.

As the game is recognized as one of the most modded titles in the history of video games, support for community-created content in Skyrim was one of our top priorities. The GOG version is compatible out of the box with most modifications mods via Nexus Mods Vortex v1.6.12 and newer. Support for mods requiring Skyrim Script Extender will be added later today. Additionally, GOG is preparing something special to provide an even smoother experience with mods – expect more details soon.

Take the chance to travel to Tamriel before the discounts on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim editions end on 13th October, 10 PM UTC. Also, join us in celebration of the 14th GOG Anniversary which will last until October 9th, 2022, at 10 PM UTC.

truhlik: Skyrim on GoG means that Elder Scrolls VI is "around the corner" :)
Yeah like 2025 with the gta 6 launch...

Wolfram_von_Thal: The only reason I actually purchased Skyrim here and now is my strong hope that I'll be able to (legally) play Enderal now. Enderal is my reason to own Skyrim, as Nehrim is the only reason to own Oblivion for me...

Lucian_Galca: It already has a wishlist entry, though i'm not gonna hold my breath on the Steam modding community suddenly caring about anyone but Steam players.

I understand what you mean, unfortunately SureAI - the guys behind Arkwend, Nehrim and Enderal - seem to prefer Steam. They also released their slightly revamped version of Nehrim Steam only (this version isn't playable with a DRM-free version of Oblivion anymore).

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I haven't been following how the Skyrim games work in terms of features.

Can someone who is an expert on such matters please provide a Cliff notes version explanation of:

- Are the GOG versions of this game missing anything at all when compared vs. any of the versions on other platforms? If yes, then what exactly are the GOG versions missing?

- When "Creation Club" content is made in the future, will that new content be compatible with the GOG versions of this game and accessible to GOG customers of this game, or no?
As far as future creation club content, I think it highly unlikely that it will be added since Creation Club is a DRM feature that allows purchase of special mods through its interface, and was the main reason most people didn't think Skyrim would come here at all.

Thank you GOG...Would it be possible to also get the older skyrim version ? I mean the Legendary Edition that is not available to purchase today as a bonus Included?
You might have an issue with the Skyrim special edition store page. It's showing the following text on the English version "Informacja od GOG odnośnie wersji DRM-Free

kompatybilność z większością modów poprzez Nexus Mods Vortex v1.6.12 i nowsze
kompatybilność ze Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE)
w tej wersji gry rollback i wyłączenie automatycznych aktualizacji jest dostępne"

The text appears correct on the anniversary edition page and the upgrade page.
I guess pigs can fly now.
Awesome!
Look at this surprise, looks like christmas came early for a lot of people! I'm happy for everyone that was waiting for this game and their dream has come true.
While this game is a HUGE pass for me (absolutely not interested), this maybe will open the doors for other great games to come here too!
Please GOG and Beth, bring FALLOUT 4 here! Now that is a game that I've been looking forward to get DRM-Free! XD
Now the Elder Scrolls family on GOG is complete.....until ES 6 comes out.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

This is unbelievable, completely unbelievable! This has been nothing but a far fetched dream of mine for years because the principles of GOG itself is incongruous with the business practices of Bethesda & ZeniMax.

I guess maybe this means that Bethesda & ZeniMax believe that Skyrim has finally reached it "MVP" state (Minimum Viable Product. It's an economics concept.) and is finally being put out to pasture.

Another thing this potentially indicates is that Bethesda & ZeniMax are actually really betting on Starfield & Elder Scrolls VI.

Maybe there is hope for DooM 2016, or even Fallout 4 as well.
Please apply correct regional pricing. Right now for me the game is cheaper on Steam.
I'd like to buy it once the price is fixed.
Thank you for bringing it to my favorite online game store.

Not_you: I guess pigs can fly now.
Awesome!
Now if only we can convince Gearbox to bring back Duke Nukem here.
Glad to see this here. Not my type of game. I'm hopping for Doom 2016.
Wow, it finally happened. Guess I kinda have to pick this one up now.
