darktjm: Lovely sentiment. If it doesn't work on my system, it's a 100% waste of my money, no matter what the cost.
eric5h5: You...are aware that GOG has refunds? Specifically for that reason? (Although these days it's not even limited to games not working on your computer: refund for any reason as long as you don't abuse the system.)
You are aware that gog lists system requirements, specifically so that people don't buy games that don't work? My system does not meet the system requirements for any game I own on gog, and I am not entitled to refunds or support.
JohnCorbeau: You could wish for a demo instead, rather than cheap games. Your sentiment is not lovely. And yeah, you got 30 days on GOG, as you've already been told by other members.
I didn't wish for a sale. I simply stated that the game is not on sale, so I have no extra incentive to buy it now, while it's still on sale. See above for my response to your refund option. Also, I don't want refunds. I want working games. Getting a refund does not refund the time and effort I spent on getting the game to work.
edit: Of the over 700 games (way too many) I own on gog, I have only ever asked for a refund once, for a game that didn't work on wine, was in-dev (and within the in-dev refund for any reason window; I don't want to ever take advantage of the new 30-day any reason policy, as I consider it abuse), and also has/had a combat system I abhor but somehow missed on my first read-through of the game description. I have also asked for support exactly once for a Linux game that didn't work, and was offered a refund rather than support (which I refused for the same reason I mentioned above). The game was eventually fixed by players/fans (including myself), rather than the game dev. Also, I have bought quite a few games without discount, so quit being an ass about it.
