Fear leads to Anger. Anger leads to...mystery.

The Dame Was Loaded is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
Scott Anger, P.I. needed a case. Sure enough, a dame fine as wine walks into his office and asks him to please find her missing brother. But missing persons cases are like women: never as easy to figure out as they promise to be. Anger is now in for a wild ride, as behind every corner and FMV sequence await puzzles, lies, and murder most foul.
I love old FMV adventures! But this one somehow escaped me back then. Has anyone here ever played it? I have some questions: Does the game have any dead ends (meaning you cannot progress and you wander aimlessly)? Can the main character die (and if so, do you have to start over)? Is the game dependent on time (meaning global time limit, not timed puzzles)? These are the things I hate most in adventure games :)

Kadlin: I thought for a second I'd get to play as a woman. I wanted to be a kick-arse lady detective. I'm tired of male leads.

I might still buy this one day, I love FMV's.
If you're looking for a FMV game with a lady dectective as a lead, Fate by Numbers might be up your alley.

It's free, but I have no clue how well it still works on modern PCs (I think I played it on Vista), and the file for direct download seems to be missing. Torrent still works, and the direct download is still up on several other sites (although mostly German ones, it seems; but the game is in English). And you might have to burn the file to a disk before playing. I thought it was worth it though. Pretty nice game for a student project.

seppelfred: Too lazy/incompetent to create graphics.
Video games are art. There's room for more than one style of graphical representation. And this looks a lot better than 3D games did in 1996...

Bermuda Syndrome nice platformer with dinosaurus have retail games but it doesnt run but with a fix found on the internet i can run the game using filemanager from win 3.11 this way i can still play games i paid money for in the old days. ( microsoft is the one that is to blame with non working games)

Full Motion Video

and many more maybe like this one : FMV : Fair market value
but we all knew it as Full Motion Video adn maybe they were lazy and didn't use graphics , then again nowaydays many inferior games with inferior graphics are still released by the dozen, but every game has its own share of gamers that love to play certain games like the simple casualgames.

kbnrylaec: In 1990s, FMV is quite popular.

seppelfred: I never liked them. I only played Gabriel Knight 1 & 3 because of my strong dislike.
i cant say i am a huge fan of the games, and i won't buy all FMV games , i played Gabriel Knight (the fmv game) and had to swap many cd's back then.I bought the game right away when i joined GOG.
FMV or other videos can really add to a game take the classic red alert games 1 and 2 and the yuris revenge, the movies used in commandos 1 + 2 a few scenes in fallout 1 and 2...
So a super obscure, critically unloved, horribly produced and acted FMV game is ok to sell but seminal games like Dragon's Lair and Space Ace aren't?

Never means never. At least to my recollection I never have, and I would have remembered, because my memory is great, and I always note FMV games even if I don't / can't (didn't/couldn't) get them - I was around gaming in the 90s, and I see the release date of it, and I looove FMV games, so much so that even though this is deemed also a "puzzle" game (which I don't like - I mean, I like logical application puzzles, and am good/okay with doing SOME puzzles like in Tex Murphy where you have to piece together shredded paper type stuff), I want to get it / will get it when possible because the noir+FMV+other factors of the 90s FMV games like this that just greatly appeal.

I can totally understand buying games like this that you owned previously even if you're not sure you'll play them again, just for compatibility, ease of use or access to a usable copy, and having the option, etc. That's how I was with some stuff on here, like Dungeon Keeper, Rise of the Triad, and I'm sure a handful of others? though I definitely skipped picking up many that I knew I wouldn't want to replay that I had forked the $ for back in the day
