Surely this has nothing to do with the comet that landed outside his Maniac Mansion 20 years ago or the two sentient tentacles running around the premises, right? Just in case, though, Dave picks two friends (out of seven in total - Dave is a popular guy!) and ventures into Ron Gilbert's classic point & click adventure, which reshaped the whole genre and later inspired a little sequel called Day of the Tentacle.

I liked Escape From Monkey Island.
Curse Of Monkey Island is the best one though.

I didn't mind it. Of course, it could've been better but I don't think it's nearly as bad as its reputation.

Finally! I have been waiting for Curse since the first Lucas Arts games arrived!

Aaaaaalso... and I don't want to be a spoilsport.... Maniac Mansion was already here, included in Day of the Tentacle Remastered.

I think most people criticized it because of moving away from the traditional SCUMM (point n' click) style to the keyboard based one (IIRC it used an updated version of the Grim Fandango engine). Personally, I thought it was a great game, it was funny and had some nice puzzles. The only part I wouldn't miss was the tongue-in-cheek "monkey combat". Of course, I still think "Curse..." was the greatest of them all.

i generally agree that it wasn't the best one and it's difficult to mention its advantages considering it's difficult to get working even with the 16 bit installer fixes, but it was still enjoyable when i played it 20 years ago. maybe it's nostalgia playing tricks but i enjoyed it.

9$ for monkey 3 is pretty steep, I only paid 5$ 18 years ago
There's no excuse for a digital copy to be more expensive

You all should HATE Maniac Mansion. Allow me to explain.

Maniac Mansion got me into PC gaming. It was my introduction and it is what made me a terminal PC gaming addict. It is because of this addiction that I belong to GOG, shop here, and hang out in here.

Maniac Mansion is the reason you are burdened with my offensive, obnoxious, foul smelling, no good, shit hole personality! Maniac Mansion is the source of all of your woes! Blame Maniac Mansion!

It wasn't that bad. Sure, it is one of the weaker games in the series but it wasn't horrible.
