We all float down here, Hans.

The Count Lucanor is now available DRM-free on GOG.com, 70% off until September 24, 1pm UTC.
Away from home. Away from his poor mom, who couldn't afford to buy him any presents for his birthday. Hans wanted to escape but now he feels lost and alone, as darkness starts creeping in.
A twisted fairy tale about the corners of the imagination best left unexplored. Sneak around a castle full of horrors, talk to bizarre NPCs, make critical choices, and try to find what the scary kobold is hiding.
With this price tag it is okay for me to buy it again as a DRMfree backup.

Thank you Baroque Decay Games for joining GOG.

There is no warning about any malicious behavior on my system. Not Malwarebytes or one of my other watchdogs found anything fishy on Baroque Decay Games

So "Yuppie Psycho" should be on it's way, too? That one will be released end of october 2018...
Looks ok. And that discount.. :O

Btw some people said that the save system is limited..

Ah, bought it on $team....so no need for rebuy (it's DRM-free on Steam).
This release confirms that Gog curators are sometimes crazy . ;)

Okay, PSA:

this game is ridiculously awesome if you don't know how it works. If you do know, it stops being scary. Please please please avoid spoilers.
A game worth to be released here! A bit late for me, I own it already. But definitly worth its money otherwise!

Schnuff: Ah, bought it on $team....so no need for rebuy (it's DRM-free on Steam).
Some games can be run without the client , once the game is installed cause we do need the client to do that.
Anyway i dont like clients , i know steam has a forced one but i knew that before i joined, i also knew GOG had no client and lateron they intrduced an optional client, thats why i do'n use it cause i want to buy, pay, download . instal and play no extra programs snooping around.

FrodoBaggins: Bullguard is blocking that site, saying:

"The site is listed as a malicious site that may be stealing identity information, plant viruses on your machine or do other harmful things."

Darvond: I'm getting the feeling that Bullguard (rated 2.5 of 5 at a glance, good sign) is doing the same thing that Windows Smartscreen does, "I don't know what this is, so therefore I'm not going to let it happen."

Maybe defenestrate it.
what is Windows Smartscreen ?

Anyway talking about trust: at least we get a warning from tools like that, there is no tool that will reveal win 10 is actually spyware with a build in OS , normally they say games or patches have spy/malware in it, in the win10 case its spyware thas uses an OS to send the info home, since it is windows there is no defender that will detect its phoning home , external AV might even be fooled aswell cause it is coming form the win 10 which is trusted by the AV i guess.

It's fine.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

It's limited if you don't think about it too hard. If you do, you'll find it isn't, but then the game stops being scary.

END SPOILER
Nice release, glad to see it here. Thanks Baroque Decay & GOG team. <3

gamesfreak64: -some madness about Galaxy-

What is Windows Smartscreen ?

-rhetoric-
Yes, thank you for the tired rhetoric. Smartscreen is the thing that pops up when you try to run especially new programs, where you have to tell it to run anyway.

darthspudius: Oh, another dull looking 2D indie game. This lack of originality is so exciting!

Linko90: Being cynical about every release isn't exactly new either ;)
For me at least, it'd help to reduce cynicism if your curators would stop rejecting games that I want to buy on GOG:

Redeemer (trailers/articles mentioned GOG, but didn't release on GOG, rejected by GOG)

Bullet Witch (published by GOG-friendly company XSEED, DRM-free on Humble, rejected by GOG)

Anima: The Nameless Chronicles (first game on GOG, dev says GOG release of second is "up to GOG", rejected by GOG)

Age of Fear series (DRM-free from dev for a long time before moving to Steam, rejected by GOG despite very good reviews iirc)

Darvond: I'm not being cynical, but it does not give a good artistic impression.

A little dithering and shading can go a long way. It's clear the art can and is going further than the character art, I do hope the graphicteers can make it match as such.

It isn't a good look when you have a detailed looking wagon next to some doofus who looks like they fell off the back of a pixel art tutorial while paradoxically having detailed face portraits.
this game is that kind of game that you would never buy looking at the pictures or watching the trailer... but when you play it it gives you a really strong vibe of something that looks like a fairytale for children, but it's in fact very, very dark... as mentioned above, I came across this game by accident mostly, but I was thrilled to play it cause it was in fact really good!

I can't really relate to some of the comments about the screenshots here. I've played through the game and I thought the art direction pretty awesome. To me the pixel art in cutscenes and portraits is so beautiful as to remind me of Studio Ghibli movies, while the sprites and surroundings use a very simplistic, almost crude low res look - yes - but very competently and with purpose, focusing on the essential and adding to the strange and uncanny. This game is far from being ugly shovelware, it's a very good indie game with consistent art style and great atmosphere.

Crazy enough to release a game that has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam and a Metacritic rating of 78, yeah. ;)
