Too ghoul for school.

UPDATE: Both The Coma: Recut and the Deluxe Edition are now 20% off until October 4, 2PM UTC.
If you purchased the game after its release and before the discount was applied, please contact Support to amend that.

The Coma: Recut, a haunting survival/adventure about escaping your nightmarish high school, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com.
After falling asleep during the final exams, Youngho gets pulled into a sinister version of Sehwa High, where a strange sickness clings to the walls and a screeching maniac is roaming the halls. Now he must run, hide, and search every room looking for clues and a way out. Perhaps that strange girl with the bandaged wrists can help?

This is a remaster of the cult classic, with new animations, new hiding and dodge mechanics, updated art, and rebalanced gameplay.

Go for the Deluxe Edition to get a whole bunch of neat stuff, including the game's Soundtrack, Artbook, and a Prologue comic. Not sure? You can always upgrade later.

Watch the trailer.

Nice! I almost forgot I had pre-ordered this. :P

Please don't forget to bring White Day here!

Yeah, White Day looks more interesting to me -- maybe just because this side-scroller perspective seems limiting in a Horror game. Didn't enjoy Lone Survivor(?) much, either.

But hey, I'm not complaining as long as we get some more good Horror games, especially this time of year.
I'll have to keep an eye out for White Day if it ever happens to show up. More horror is welcome!

Any idea what happened to Linux? It was listed on the store until yesterday. Same with Steam.

Since the dev/pub put denuvo on it and holds the classic "every pc user is a dirty thief" mindset, don't hold your breath.

Lame. Apparently it also comes with a crap load of cosmetic DLC, which in total costs twice as much as the actual game. Seems to be a wonderful publisher, indeed.

( Although I would add, they probably feel that way about ALL gamers, not just PC users. They just don't have to worry about it quite as much on consoles. )

Haha what? How does that work in a first-person game?

(checking steam store)

WHAT, WHY WOULD THEY TREAT IT LIKE DEAD OR ALIVE

Curiously, a trusted forum member got an email from its publisher PQube and they said that they intend to bring it here "some time next week" (that was a month ago, though).

Yeah, them being enamoured with Denuvo doesn't bode well. On the other hand, if Steamspy is to be trusted, they only sold some 6000 copies, so they might want to consider additional revenue streams. The original game was considered a flop for only selling a few thousand copies - and that was over 15 years ago with a title that launched exclusively in Korea.

And if the DLC is what's holding it back on gog, I say bring it! I can still decide not to buy it.

If we are into asking, why not ask for Detention?

And thanks for The Coma: Recut; I got it.

For some reason it actually bothers me less in a game like DoA, not sure why. Maybe because, like in most modern Fighting games, alternate outfits have always been a central feature ( along with lots of pretty girls ). In a Horror game it seems much more out of place.

Heck, it's not even the nature of the DLC that bothers me, but at a total cost of around 60 bucks for a bunch of alternate outfits, the cost/value ratio just seems completely off. You can buy a giant game like Witcher 3 for less than that. I strongly doubt those alternate outfits required the same investment of budget and man-hours...

Maybe it's the amount of DLC, since GOG doesn't really have a good system to keep track of that many DLC items for a single game, and it would just clutter up the store. Then again, Witcher 3 had 16 ( free ) DLCs too. But I don't remember if they were ever listed as individual items, or only as a set.

I suppose they could offer the outfits as sets, of 6 each or so. They already seem to offer some set deals on Steam.

That one looks interesting too! Perhaps more so than The Coma.

Yeah, the sheer amount of DLC (and the clutter it would cause) is one of the things I worry about whether it's keeping this game from getting released. A shame, really. I'd rather have the game here and accept the catalogue clutter, there's tons of other games with shitloads of DLC here already.

BTW, The Witcher 3 DLC only ever came as a bundle.

Oh, hell yeah! This one would also be an instabuy. I vaguely remember there being this school-themed horror game from Taiwan, but I couldn't remember the name, so thanks for posting that! If I remember correctly, I sent the devs an email about bringing it here or on playism, but they never replied.
i have preordered this game for LINUX.
and now at release day any mention of linux gets removed from gog and steam without any explanation by developers or distributors.
that is not how things done with preorders.
if you promissed something and took my money - you have to deliver!
it's not a crowdfunding...

Hi,
I suggest to not download anything. Contact support and ask for refund.

This game is one more example demonstrating why pre-ordering is a bad idea.

yes, looks like it will be my first refund :(

i don't think that pre-ordering is bad in itself if done right.
but i have added a wish for notification on pre-order deal changes if anyone care to vote:

pyatak:
Voted, since I agree the pre-order deal should not be changed.

In any case pre-ordering imposes a risk for the buyer, since the product is not ready.
I go with the golden rule of never pre-order, but of course other users may do differently.
