szablev: Obviously, for people who did not find the game so great/who like other genres in gaming better, TBS is not a priority and I can understand reactions like yours as well.
I loved the first game and was poised to grab part 2 as soon as it released on GOG... only it didn't. Then I heard about the 'issues' with KS backers and GOG keys (or lack thereof) for the second installment. Then I found out about their reasoning for Steam only (GOG release of part 1 led to too many pirated copies). Then I chatted with one of the devs on the Steam forums and was appalled not only at the fact that when it comes to piracy they seem to have their heads firmly ensconced up their collective asses, but I was also very turned off by the attitude towards their backers and those of us that wanted a DRM-free release.

These guys pissed me off royally so I'm still waffling on when to buy part 2. I loved the first game, and I really want to see the third on GOG on release day. But if they pull this kind of crap for part 3, I'll completely wash my hands of Stoic.

Thats pretty telling about Stoic :/
In case someone was wondering about the Banner Saga 1 discount (50%) ending too soon.
We had a short hick-up in our promo tool but now the discount is live again.

Talking of the Banner Saga 1 - is there any news on when the latest patch will be coming here?

Info for it can be found here; http://steamcommunity.com/games/237990/announcements/detail/619618004584873427

I'm glad it has finally made it to GOG. Somehow I didn't even notice its release until now. Too bad I've spent too much money already on other things over the weekend but it's wishlisted for now.

If it doesn´t sell well on GOG this time we shouldn´t expect Part III coming here in time/ at all...

GR00T: This is a bit of a double edged sword. On the one hand, yes I can see the point of buying now when we've been so vocal about wanting a DRM-free version.

On the other hand, rushing to throw our money at these guys after they've demonstrated that we're really nothing more than an afterthought to them (and that's being generous, IMO), is just saying "Hey, it's cool to treat us like shit, so please, can I have some more, sir?"

The whole thing sticks in my craw. I'll buy the game, for sure, but I've still not decided if I'll grab it right away or wait for the inevitable discount.
This is my sentiment too. I'm glad part 2 is here now, but is it here because it sold badly on Steam or did Stoic actually change their mind that DRM-free has nothing to do with piracy (or that they actually promised backers the game would come here day 1)? Really don't feel like picking up part 2 full price now only to see part 3 go Steam exclusive again once it's ready. So definitely on the fence of picking the game up now full price or during a future sale. Maybe a statement from Stoic that part 3 will definitely be released day 1 on Gog as well would help change my mind.

Just a heads up in case you miss it.

Thanks. Saew the first one, but not the second. That one... ye gods: "If anything it is making us look at better options for protection moving forward."

I don't know what to say. Doesn't look good for them deciding to go with GOG for part 3.
Wow. These people are truly unbelievable. Based on this statement, their ignorance and arrogance really knows no bounds. I really hope that sometime, somehow, despite their current mentality, TBS3 will get a DRM-free release, because having played the first two parts, I would like to play through the trilogy. But if they are actually going to go through with their more aggressive DRM plans, then - after the TBS series is finished - I will completely ignore every product with their logo on it.

Lol, so I missed it two times now.

Heh, clearly, TBS is high profile enough for Denuvo. AAA material.
This is a great turn of events, except I'm not gonna buy it until a couple months pass by. I had some money saved up before release just to get this thang and when the devs decided GOG was pure loss I just went ahead and bought something else instead. I'm even seriously considering just waiting for a sale, since it's gonna be a while anyway. Hell, might give me time to re-play BS1 and finish that last battle.
Cool news. I'll probably grab it after I finished my playtrhough of the first one (love the graphics, characters, setting, gameplay, but the story is such a miseryfest that I lost heart and droped it twice already mid-campaign. This time, I'll see it to the end, though!)
Wow. I bought TBS at a discount a few sales ago and haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Based on the behavior of the devs, I'll hold off on purchasing any future installments if/until all parts are available via my preferred vendor.
