The caravan has all my friends / They'll stay with me until the end

The Banner Saga 2, which continues the captivating tale of your people's perilous journey, is available now for Windows and Mac, DRM-free on GOG.com.

You knew that your choices would come back to haunt you, didn't you. But you made them anyway, because that's what Viking leaders do. Many have died, and more will perish still, yet the caravan must press on. The future holds a thin promise of salvation but the present requires sacrifices, gut-wrenching decisions, brutal turn-based encounters, and a watchful eye over all your caravan's needs. New characters, a new race of Horseborn, and a more complex story will make your journey even more challenging and rewarding than before, while your wise leadership skills shall once again prove just as important as your tactical prowess.

Continue your epic march through this vast Viking land of legends in The Banner Saga 2, DRM-free on GOG.com. Those entranced by the evocative Soundtrack should pick it up either separately or as part of the Deluxe Edition.

hummer010: Correct.
Thanks for the clarification. Maybe we'll finally get the Linux version now that the sequel has been released here...
Well, well, look who's here. >_>

Good thing they added the soundtrack this time. The one in the first game was amazing!
I so want to be interested in these games, the gameplay mechanics are right up my alley, however I find these games very depressing and sad...and that's not particularly appealing to me. I don't want to be depressed playing a game, as I'm depressed enough as it is in my daily life, I need games that cheer me up or intrigue me.

I look forward to seeing what this developer team can do once finished with the Banner Saga series, hopefully something more uplifting and cheerful.

hummer010: Ahh, The Banner Saga. Yet another game with a Linux version available elsewhere.
In hot water i assume ?
It's a shame that TBS doesn't have Elves, I know everyone says Elves are overdone, but I would have liked to seen a completely different depiction of Elves more in line with the Norse myth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%B6kk%C3%A1lfar_and_Lj%C3%B3s%C3%A1lfar).

Sorry, Banner Saga 2. The party started without you and almost all the goodies are gone. Nothing left for you from my wallet this week!

P.S. I guess it took you so long to get here because you had to fight through all the pirates on the Steaming Sea to get to the safety of GOG Harbor, huh?

As I promised I will buy the game. Sadly can't do it now with the ongoing sale. My finances are good but not that good ;)

CelineSSauve: I wonder what the chance is that Stoic will do right by their Backers.
(EDIT: Thankfully, the answer appear to be "Yes" based on their latest update.)
Can I ask what you mean by this? I have Steam keys for Banner Saga 1 & 2 from The Banner Saga Warbands Kickstarter but would rather have the games here on GOG.

Well, this was sooner than expected. Sadly, regionally priced, and no Linux build for our Linux users.

They did a Warbands Kickstarter? I'd thought they'd just funded that from the "The Banner Saga" Kickstarter.

At the current discount, the first part of the series is well worth it, for those who still haven't played it.

As for the second, I'm glad it's here now, after all the controversy. I'm sure I'll pick up a copy... eventually...

Does anyone here know how Banner Saga 2 handles your choices if you no longer have your save game from the first one? Does it offer an alternative solution, as Witcher 3 did? Or are you stuck with some sort of official, "default" version of the game?

Thanks for the info, I'll see if they will do the same for the keys from Warband. Here's the KS:

It's a miniature game based on Banner Saga with digital rewards available.
Bought! I don't know when I last bought a full price game, but this is worth it :-)

Really excited Stoic pivoted so quickly based on their fans' feedback.

Ooh. They made a board game based on it. Okay.
