Up to 75% off Puzzle Agent & Puzzle Agent 2, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Hector: Badge of Carnage

A foursome of Telltale's many classic adventures, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com. Get all games 75% off together, or 60% off individually! Before The Walking Dead, before the The Wolf Among Us, the Telltale Games catalog was a medley of point and click adventures and testing the waters for new ideas - always mixed with the studio's unique charm. Here is just a peek at Telltale's adventure:

In the year 2000, a flash-cartoon by the name of Homestar Runner slowly began working its way up to internet-sensation levels of popularity. By 2009, the series's episodic Telltale spinoff was complete. And now, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People is DRM-free on GOG.com - in which you get to play as Strong Bad, be attractive, and get a taste of how Telltale did adventure back in the day.

Calling the U.S. Department of Puzzle Research! Strange events require your utmost attention - a serial crime spree-er is on the loose, and he's leaving all manner of brainteasers in his wake. That's not to mention the puzzles that surround you every day. As Nelson Tethers you'll have to traverse the perpetually-busy town of Scoggins, navigate a web of secret societies, peculiar sounds and... garden gnomes? Puzzle Agent & Puzzle Agent 2 are a duo of adventures, where beautiful hand-drawn art, hilarity and creepiness come together to form an amazing adventure game littered with smart challenges.

You are Hector. A rude man, a foul man. A policeman. You take the Great out of Britain, negotiate with terrorists, and would really much rather be somewhere else. Hector: Badge of Carnage follows the misadventures of the cynical cop as he trudges through life, giving off the wrong impression wherever he goes. That's not to say you should get the wrong impression about this game, there's method to its crudeness and, in great writing, a spirit of hilarity.

Take a trip back to a classic Telltale with Puzzle Agent & Puzzle Agent 2, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, Hector: Badge of Carnage together at 75% off. The promo will last for one week, until Friday, October 2, 12:59 PM GMT.

DeMignon: I wonder why these titles haven't been released earlier on GOG. It's not like Telltale is a newbie here.
true.
i had puzzle agent a long while ago at gamersgate, never got puzzle agent 2 cause it had drm , i think it was securom.

got these 3 now:

Hector: Badge of Carnage

Well, I cracked. It really made no sense not getting Hector just because I think Turdtale is disgusting. Straandlooper is innocent in all this, & their game is a nice curiosity.

Ok, I'll admit it. I pirated it back then, finished it & liked it. I felt bad for not buying it afterwards, but it was only sold by Turdtale & no one else & I didn't want to give them any more of my money. But now I have kinda sorta redeemed myself. Somewhat. I'm sorry, Straandlooper. You were never the problem. I still love you. Well, I have a mild interest, at any rate.

On the other hand, there's nothing else on Turdtale's catalogue that I want, so unless there's a 90% off sale on the newer games, that's it for me.

No longer will I have to feel filthy by giving them my money. Up yours, Turdtale.

Catmancer: It's DRM-Free through Desura.

I am really excited to see SBCG4AP and the Puzzle Agent games. Loved them so much. It's just too bad that the games in this bundle have no extras. The DVD for Strong Bad's had some fun stuff.

yyahoo: My favorite part of the DVD for Strong Bad was the 2600-styled alternate cover...
The first time I got the DVD, I never noticed the reversable cover because I don't remember it being mentioned on the website ever. When I discovered it, I felt like I discovered the new world and immediately started using that cover. I like the 3D Dangeresque short. Also, there's a mini-game in the disc itself that's in the style of old school point and click adventures that you can play on the PC.

Teppic: Yes, but you can not buy it. It was only available as part of an indie royale bundle long ago.
Oh, crap. You're right. I hadn't noticed that. My bad.

phaolo: Ugh.. are those full prices for real? O_o
avatar
real.geizterfahr: They are... It's Telltale (look at Sam & Max). They love their 80-90% off sales. It's basically forbidden to buy their games if they're not heavily discounted. I think they don't even expect to sell a single copy of their games outside of sales.
I used to buy their games full price on their site .. but haven't for years!
Used to be a decent company. Now they are over priced and over hyped.

Apparently they don't know that I've purchased stuff from them .... but at least they still let me download some of the stuff .. how decent of them :)

telltale's withering hold on their crazy prices just makes me chuckle. strong bad is SEVEN [!] years old at this point. $20 is NUTS.

but that's fine. i'm not /real/ interested in strong bad. i'll hang out until it hits 85-90% in several years time and then bite.

haydenaurion: Same here. If they want my purchase, they need to fix the gog versions of their games.

Yeah, that's a question i'd like to know the answer to as well.
avatar
yyahoo: I think somewhere in the forums someone posted a link to the Telltale forums where they responded that they don't consider it a game breaking bug because the necessary character is not missing, it's invisible and if you click in the area where they should be, you can actually interact with them and finish the game. Of course, if you don't know that ahead of time, you sure can waste a ton of time trying to figure out what to do next...
if the person in question is invisible as part of the story, that would be one thing. but the context here makes it seem like that's not the case. that's a bug. but, of course, telltale will never fix it. that's not telltale's style.

Navagon: I suppose it's not surprising that Telltale went downhill as soon as John Riccitiello got involved.
oh god!

he did!

i wasn't boycotting telltale before [not seriously, anyway. i think they're bad developers generally, but i'd at least /buy/ their games at rock bottom prices] but now...yeah. that's boycott material.

Still less crazy than Sam & Max Save the World, which is 8-9 years old and costs $30. Also, while Strong Bad does indeed cost $20 on some regions, it costs significantly more on others (over $30 here).

Wait! You mean this evil capitalist douchebag?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR6-u8OIJTE

What's his connection to Telltale?
It would explain everything.

A simple boycot of everything he touched is way too good for this one.

Yup, as I said earlier. I'm not saying it's not a bug, nor am I justifying Telltale's behavior. I'm just sharing what I read of their (poor) justification.

Klumpen0815: What's his connection to Telltale?
Board of directors, man. Board of directors. Telltale was never whiter than white, but they still seemed to really care about what gamers wanted and not just about chucking out whatever made money the fastest.

I guess those days are over. I bet that twatbastard is wondering just how to shoehorn microtransactions into an episodic game.
"Classics"??? Never heard of 'em.
lol i'm happy this reminded me of Strong Bad, and I'm watching the videos now, but NO WAY am I paying 8USD for the game. And i choked a little when I saw it is normally going to be 20USD. Nope!
Telltale used to be great- they brought back classic adventure gaming and resurrected both Sam and Max and Monkey Island, which, while not perfect, were pretty enjoyable. And since then, it's been nothing but licensed "games" based on TV series and movies. After seeing the immense drop in quality when I bought Back to the Future, which barely even qualified as a game, I've had no interest in a single thing they've put out. And apparently they have horrible support, judging from the comments here. Really tragic to see such a beacon of hope become utterly corrupted and worthless. We'll probably never see Sam and Max or Monkey Island again, which I suppose would be all right if they didn't end the latter with the implication of a sequel!
