Orcs must NOT die.

Tales of Maj'Eyal: Embers of Rage, the new chapter to the turn-based roguelike RPG of vast character customization, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with in-game achievements and a 10% launch discount. To celebrate the occasion, all previous Tales of Maj'Eyal installments are also on discount.

All Orc Prides have been wiped out or captured by the allied forces the greenskins call The Scourge from the West. All? No! One of them managed to survive, isolated on an island they share with a race of technologically advanced giants. Now the Kruk Pride must rise and attempt to claim that technology for themselves, before they can unleash their righteous wrath upon those that aim to suppress them.

The new, fully-fledged campaign in this savage land will give you the opportunity to play as a Sawbutcher or a Gunslinger, and even unlock additional secret classes that will allow the Orcs to reestablish themselves in the world of Eyal. Countless new items, talents, and zones are waiting to be discovered, and the new tinker crafting system will give your character some advanced gear to experiment with. You might think Orcs are just dumb masses of green muscle but when they get their hands on that sweet tech, you will be glad to be playing as one of them.

Help the orcfolk reclaim their rightful place and live their Tales of Maj'Eyal: Embers of Rage, DRM-free on GOG.com. Take this opportunity to revisit the Tales of Maj'Eyal going for 75% off and the first DLC Ashes of Urh'Rok, now discounted by 66%.
All discounts will last until March 1st, 4:59 AM GMT.

That feel, when you just want to check the thread for potential release problems and you find... this.
Why am I even doing this to myself? :(

It's like a non-stopping pepextravaganza ;D

Maxvorstadt: Hm, I`m tempted to buy, but the original game is so freaking hard and unfair, is the new DLC as unfair as the original game(+ Ashes of Urok)?
definitely try a different build or class, and NEVER try to be a jack of all trades or to gain too many variety of skills, imo. you want POWER!

also, the guide helps immensely

for the record, I've not even come close to beating it yet

sticking with my dwarf arcane warrior that I initially started with after trying a handful of classes and loving it the best still

First you turn down the Cave shmups, then you bury this beneath an F-ing Walking Dead extended cutscene.

GOG has been making a lot of bonehead decisions lately.

I think they know that telltale crap sells like condoms to the mainstream moron and so are simply cashing in, and they know it's not quality gaming, but are getting a chunk of the pie regardless

The Embers DLC had a 9 AM PST release time as per DarkGod's request. An hour later Michonne gets released as it was supposed to today. The newsposts are in the order a given game is released.

On top of that, both games have their main art quite visible on the front page, we have a trailer for Embers on our youtube channel that's available for all to see, we've tweeted once (maybe more) about Embers, and I believe there is a Facebook post either scheduled to be live or already is and it will be, you guessed it, dedicated to Embers.

Please tell me just how we "buried" this release?

PaterAlf: Hooray, it's finally out. A full new campaign for one of my favourite games and one of the best rogue-likes I've ever played. can't think of any reason not to buy it right away.
avatar
Maxvorstadt: You were able to complete the game? How?
avatar
PaterAlf: Try different classes and playstyles. You'll find one that suits you after a while. Haven't completed the game yet, but the Summoner works really great for me. Most of the time enemies don't get even close to my character.
Yeah, tried the summoner now, at least in the beginning he`s very powerful, but I fear the later game, especially the "castle in the lake" where I always get drowned.

Get a Belt of Unlife or anything that says "of the Deep" and your drowning problems are gone :)

Unlife is the slightly better one since you can also survive the Sandworm Lair in the event you get buried by the shifting sands within :)

Or unlock skeletons, who come with built in unlife as well as the most ridiculously overpowered racial skill tree :)

On a side note, already lv13 with my Orc Steambutcher, expansion is fun so far though I can see the classes possibly being a bit overpowered compared to the old ones...
Just waiting to run into that thing that kills me dead out of nowhere so I have to start again XD

Hmmm, you'll probably find a boss unique monster in a chest. Happened to me in Ser-Tul, you know where you fight the necromancer who freezes you right off the bat? :)
And it turns out that thing was a Sunwall Patrol. Knew I shouldn't have risked exploring the world map :/

Oh well, time to try a Gunslinger or whatever it's called now :)

I'm always wary of opening chests unless I'm seriously overpowered.

Do you mean the one in the Graveyard? After a couple of bad tussles with her on lower levels I left beating her right till the end (having already dropped in to the first level of the Graveyard to fix her level much earlier), though I still didn't unlock necromancer as I didn't have all the needed lore :/
I can't remember another specific necromancer battle...
