Orcs must NOT die.

Tales of Maj'Eyal: Embers of Rage, the new chapter to the turn-based roguelike RPG of vast character customization, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com with in-game achievements and a 10% launch discount. To celebrate the occasion, all previous Tales of Maj'Eyal installments are also on discount.

All Orc Prides have been wiped out or captured by the allied forces the greenskins call The Scourge from the West. All? No! One of them managed to survive, isolated on an island they share with a race of technologically advanced giants. Now the Kruk Pride must rise and attempt to claim that technology for themselves, before they can unleash their righteous wrath upon those that aim to suppress them.

The new, fully-fledged campaign in this savage land will give you the opportunity to play as a Sawbutcher or a Gunslinger, and even unlock additional secret classes that will allow the Orcs to reestablish themselves in the world of Eyal. Countless new items, talents, and zones are waiting to be discovered, and the new tinker crafting system will give your character some advanced gear to experiment with. You might think Orcs are just dumb masses of green muscle but when they get their hands on that sweet tech, you will be glad to be playing as one of them.

Help the orcfolk reclaim their rightful place and live their Tales of Maj'Eyal: Embers of Rage, DRM-free on GOG.com. Take this opportunity to revisit the Tales of Maj'Eyal going for 75% off and the first DLC Ashes of Urh'Rok, now discounted by 66%.
All discounts will last until March 1st, 4:59 AM GMT.

Nope:

Pre-order The Walking Dead: Michonne and experience the missing chapter in her brutal story, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% discount will last until the game's release, on February 23. Along with this release, we will also be launching the Mac versions of two previous Walking Dead installments on GOG.com: The Walking Dead: Season 1 and Season 2.

adaliabooks: Might just have to raid the piggy bank for this.. haven't touched it much since I managed to complete the main campaign, just been playing the arena mode on and off, so a new story and classes would be appreciated.

Maxvorstadt: You were able to complete the game? How?
Unlocking the Temporal Warden. And Skeletons. Both are overpowered, combine them together and you become pretty unstoppable. It was still difficult, but I couldn't come anywhere close with any other combo.
I do love roguelikes though and am a gluten for punishment with them so I wasn't going to let it beat me.

It's not all that bad, though there are some things which are definitely unfair (mostly any named monster) but once you learn the warning signs you just need to know to slam up a shields (usually followed in quick succession by whatever other shields you have) and be prepared to use whatever healing you have available at a moments notice and if all else fails to teleport (or whatever) and get the hell out when something big and nasty appears.
Once I was one hit killed (at a reasonably high level) by the projectile of a named monster I couldn't even see yet... but that's roguelikes for you.
It's just like any game really, learning to use your skills properly and equip the right things to get ahead, as well as knowing which monsters to take down first and which to avoid if you can help it.

You mean Yes then, pre-order is not a release.

Nice Dlc though, will pick it up when I can.

Sure pre-order is not a release but the game will be released today according to the bit i quoted. The pre-order itself is live for four days now.

Hooray, it's finally out. A full new campaign for one of my favourite games and one of the best rogue-likes I've ever played. can't think of any reason not to buy it right away.

Try different classes and playstyles. You'll find one that suits you after a while. Haven't completed the game yet, but the Summoner works really great for me. Most of the time enemies don't get even close to my character.

It is not a question of if but when. I'll get it before my next attempt at ToME which will be soon enough.
A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!!

One of my favorite games ^^

I actually materialised on the forums about a week ago but thanks for the warm welcome, good sir :)

Picked an Alchemist. The end. Not exactly a glamorous class, but ridiculously powerful. By the end, he was wiping out screenfuls in a single turn. Of course, that was 1.0, and the current version is 1.4, so things might have changed.

Having learned to play the game well, I immediately started another character, and while the Doomed is a great class (so many viable play styles), I'm pretty sure I would've done as well with any other. It became fairly easy. If I had to choose just one tip, it would be: whenever calculating risk vs reward, err on the side of caution.

Ah, true, a discussion about the finer points of Greek cuisine ;)

Do make sure to stop by more often though, or must we bribe you with souvlakia and gyropites to make that happen? ;)
