GOG version should start in 3dfx mode by default.

Ixamyakxim: Primarily this - can I get a confirm? This is the first question I wanted to ask when I saw the front page release. I know a lot of games from this era actually pushed the mouse and keyboard flight sim (Freelancer being another) - it was one of the reasons I sort of fell out of the genre. I'd LOVE to know if there's in game flightstick support (I'm not keen on the idea of running third party software in the background to get a freakin' FLIGHTstick to work in a FLIGHT sim).

rampancy: I've just played through some of the the ring training missions with the game in WINE using my MadCatz/Cyborg V.1 and I can say with confidence that it natively supports joysticks. In fact, IMHO the game plays much better with a joystick than with KB+M.

Iain: Hmmmmm, this version is missing the intro (Steam version is also), shows the 3DFX splash screen then onto the title screen. Granted the intro is only a minute or so long but it sets the scene, you can watch it on Youtube.

You can set the resolution to 1920x1080 using the nGlide config within the installation folder and it looks really sharp

Edit: Instructions on enabling 3Dfx rendering are available here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2605480
In the install folder you have nglide_config.exe, run that for the settings not the Tachyon launcher which is just named Tachyon, if you use the games launcher you are limited to Direct3D and 1024x768 resolution

I was on the fence about buying it until I noticed that Jake Logan and I - and presumably Bruce Campbell, as well - have the same blood type.
