Get ready for an escape-room horror game with beautiful hand-drawn art – Succubus Prison from Kagura Games is now available on GOG with a -10% launch discount that lasts until July 22nd, 4 AM UTC.

You stand outside a house on the edge of town, dragged there by a couple of guys you can't say no to without getting your kneecaps busted, and told that you were helping them to rob it. It's only three sisters who live there, they said. It's an easy score, they said.

You sneak inside and start searching the rooms, as instructed. It's dark, and even though you don't see anything worth taking, things are going smoothly so far. Then the screaming starts.

Hide from what's hunting you and use anything in the house to further your escape. Every action you take will affect how your story evolves. Do your best to survive.

Succubus Prison OUT NOW!
Every single time. I see Kagura in the new releases and always I get a moment where I think maybe GOG managed to get another Senran Kagura game... and as usual it's yet another indistinguishable RPG maker title shoveled onto the store...

Actually wait, this does look a bit different, the overlay artwork looks so awkward and inconsistent that I am almost convinced they used an AI generator to make it.

So... this game mentions a couple times it being three sisters in the house and I only see them mention two with images and such. .. naturally I went to go look this up to see what's so hush-hush about it.

Loli. It's loli. Third succubus sister is a loli. ..yeaaah.

Tossing this in the trash. Out it goes. I regret looking into this further. :/

The unnatural sized tits alone would keep me from buying already.
GOG's curation at its best right here.

No kidding. Can say that for once you don't even need to go below the neck to see the problem. Those faces are just... messed up.

(About curation though, once they obviously decided that a part of their target audience are the users who look for this sort of games, having them here and through curation makes perfect sense, it's not a sign that it doesn't work, it works just as intended. Problem is that there's no clear and public information stating what they favor, what they disfavor but may still accept under what terms, and what they just won't have...)

Come on. Just look at it. You can't tell me this doesn't look awful. I don't mean curation allowing porn games, but why is being porn a "get out of jail" free card for shovelwere RPGmaker crap? Hell, even by the standards of these Kagura games, this looks particularly terrible. I've got shovelwere trash on old CDs from gaming magazines that looks like Witcher 3 compared to this.

Already said it looks awful... But it does seem to be very highly rated (elsewhere), so it would seem that, for its target audience, it falls under high quality.

There's no accounting, bookkeeping, nor management for taste, and sometimes you have to accept that a niche audience is going to have garbage tastes due to content starvation. Like how I used to like the smutty garbage that TokiFuji would push before I discovered the emotionally affirming artist I now primarily follow.

This has to be the worst artwork I've seen in these games so far.

...Huh. I had to look and that is impressively sloppy art.

Jpeg artifacts, missing noses, messy pixels (unless that's supposed to be a beauty mark/mole?) and worse.

As GOG themselves say:
"Hand-picking the best in gaming"
:p
Good to see Kagura getting in on the Succubus themed week. Ha, ha!

I'm guessing AI laziness then.

Most of these games are made on basically no budget, by a tiny number of people (sometimes just one person), and are lucky if they sell a couple thousand copies. RPG Maker is a cheap way to design simple games, that simultaneously doesn't require you to know anything substantial about programming.

That doesn't mean that these games are good, per se, but it's about all you can expect given how niche the market is and how little money they tend to make.
