SuperLibby72: I have both games on disc which are DRM-free already.

Plokite_Wolf: Both use SecuROM v7.

They pushed the SH2 and SHL Steam Editions hard for the Steamworks multiplayer and Workshop integration, and they'll only consider doing Steam-to-Galaxy crossplay if there is enough interest from the latter's userbase.
Are you sure? I have the Stronghold Collection and none of them have DRM.

ValamirCleaver: Because this game is focusing on east & southeast Asia?
So why not do both then? Like have some levels in the style shown in the game as it is now, and other levels with knights in medieval castles. It doesn't have to be just one or the other.
Too bad it doesn't have DRM-Free multiplayer.
@GOG
people seem to not get stronghold HD added in their library that is supposed to be included with the purchase of the special edition

I was referring to the individual disc releases from 2005 and 2006 respectively. I don't know what the retail version of the SH Collection was like.

Because artwork is freaking expensive? Because it the game models peculiarities inherent to the Asian setting that would not transfer well to a European medieval setting and require extensive redesign and remodeling? Because that would leave the game with two disjointed settings which have no proper historical reason to overlap in the time period in question?

In the past many Disk-rereleases or magazine versions were DRM-free.
low rated

Ancient-Red-Dragon: And it seems like you can't play as knights in medieval castles in this game? I'm not sure why they wouldn't include that feature. That's a pretty huge thing to omit.

why? that is boring

That's true actually. I just made this drawing of a knight like in two minutes or so, and it wasn't expensive at all.

oh same clean style as i have , nice
Looks fantastic, with a neat setting!

Not sure if this holds true with the actual game but at least in the trailer - that Western person faking an Asian broken-English accent is just cringe. I don't know why they felt the need to do that. It not only sounds stupid, but is insulting to many people groups. I say this as an Asian-American. Am I offended? No. But it's just sad at this point.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm talking about the male in the trailer.
Stronghold 2 and Legends are long overdue for a release on GOG. What's the holdup? Let's get 2 and Legends released, already! Missing money in your coffers as a consequence of not releasing them on GOG, as of yet.

torham: Too bad it doesn't have DRM-Free multiplayer.
Not just too bad, it's also a shame. Shame on this developer/publisher and shame on GOG for accepting DRMed modes in games. While I am currently boycotting GOG (see the corresponding topic), specifically due to what I see as a shift towards DRM, I have to say more generally that when games like Stronghold: Warlords do this DRM scheme, it is absolutely a deciding factor between buying and not buying if I am on the fence.
