Stellaris Expansions Pack
Stellaris Species Pack
Stellaris Starter Pack
Stellaris Stories Pack
Hooray the nickel and dimeing from Paradox Interactive continues.

Hooray instead of just purchasing Stellaris and then purchasing expansion packs for Stellaris when they get released for sale Paradox Interactive releases a bunch of microtransactions for sale for their video games as well which I will never be able to afford them all.

Someone is going to say Stellaris has no microtransactions I bet, but this is Paradox Interactive we are talking about and looking at the list for Stellaris on the gog.com store page it has, Stellaris Starter Pack, Stellaris Humanoids Species Pack, and three other Stellaris species packs are being sold.

Hooray for Paradox Interactive only caring about money.

Hooray I will be so happy when a asteroid from Stellaris the size of the continent of North America hits planet Earth.

Just give us expansion packs that have ten hours or more worth of singleplayer campaign stories and ten new planets and all of that Paradox Interactive, then I will stop complaining about you selling microtransaction sized DLC's.

As you can see I really hate Paradox Interactive.

Some day this game will be finished so I can try it. I can't stand trying to play moving targets like that.

And you are blinded by it it seems.

Some DLCs are cosmetic.
Some just add little stories for people who are in that.

But this one seems to be a major expansion for a 6 year old game.
You know, like the old expansions for something like Civ 4.

While it is more interesting, that they still build big addons for a 6 year old game (Bethesda just milked its biggest cow at that time till today) and not come up with a successor.

Even MORE DLC?
Paradox, do you know this is the exact reason why I don't buy your games, right? I want to play the entire content, not spend hundreds, maybe thousands of Euros to keep up with the additions.
Stellaris is totally a game I'd love, also totally a game I haven't played.

I 100% agree with you.

Give me all those DLC's that are not huge expansion packs, that are just new alien races or whatever for free Paradox Interactive then I will think about ever purchasing Stellaris.

Here we go again.... The game is complete, it's $10 right now, which is a very good deal. You get a lot of playtime out of that. If you're interested, just get it. Later on, if you want to spice things up some more, look at the DLC and get one or two that seem interesting. You're not supposed to get ALL of it, unless maybe you're ultra-hardcore and Stellaris is like the only game you play.

Stellaris continues to look interesting to me, but I don't abide by the "DLC's will continue coming out indefinitely" style of marketing & development.

So...

I will continue to monitor and wait (despite that the base-game is reportedly "complete" w/o the many DLC's, per other's opinions).

Similar as to FrostPunk (although that one may finally be "complete" as they are working on #2) - I'll just keep waiting. There's LOTS of other games to play that don't "play me" like that.

Frostpunk is also totally fine without any DLCs. I did play one (The Rifts), but while I'm interested in playing the others eventually, I moved on for now. Very good game, but there are others, you know? And yes it is complete; the page for On the Edge says "third and final expansion." I will bet substantial amounts of money that most of the "Imma wait for the complete version" crowd wouldn't play much more than the base game anyway.

Cool, thanks for pointing that out.

I remember looking at that DLC when it came out, and don't recall seeing that disclaimer. Wondering if it was added later or I just missed it...

Anyways, good to know. :)
Sorry for repeating myself... Always my pleasure to watch Stellaris launch trailers. Their high mark was Apocalypse:

Thinking of it, can't recall a better Space game cinematics. Some of StarCraft cut scenes come as high contenders though.

I will buy Stellaris when they finally announce Stellaris 2 and we get a Stellaris Complete. Until then it's just an endless Paradox money sink
