Wow! I'd have never expected Stellaris to get a DLC. Oh well, the times they are a-changin'.
Stellaris; everything AND the kitchen sink.
I usually criticize DLC, but this one actually seems promising and reasonably priced as well.
I read in some reviews that if you run games with all the dlcs, you need pick a small Galaxy, else the game will start experiencing performance issues towards the mid to late game.

When it gets to the point where some folks start advocating judiciously picking which dlcs you want to play the game with, I start questioning my life choices given that I bought this game and many of its dlcs initially.

Well, the CPU I got was decent/goodish more than ten years ago. It's got some upgrades on the side (memory, GPU) but the core of the system is now surprisingly old.

I play Stellaris on a medium galaxy with all DLCs enabled (although on Linux for the last year or two). Does it get slower? Yes, but so does any other strategy game as the map fills up, regardless of whether it's turn-based or real-time with pause.

That's an interesting opinion. For me, Machine Age was a clear case of "take my money and shut up". The Grand Archive at least looks promising theme-wise. Back then and even after the dev diaries and playing it a bit, Cosmic Storms really felt like the absolutely weakest and least inspiring of what was on offer this year. Without the season pass I probably would have skipped it.

Would you say it's something I should skip! Have you played it?
Now, this is the trailer I expected to get from Paradox. Watched it 3 times(bec. short and good) -- bravo!
(the previous one (announcement teaser?) was a pretty week one)

Sadly this information is wrong. Playing on big galaxies tends to cause performance issues during late game (not really during mid game) even with the base game, the amount of expansions enabled has no measurable effect on that.

Difficult to say. I'm currently a bit distracted and find it difficult to see it sparking with me. If you want a more in-depth opinion, take a look at the official forum instead. As I said, i priced it in as the red headed step child of the season 8 pass and for that I'd slightly grumble without making a scene.

It's possible things make more sense when the Custodians finish their hinted greater work in the background. The storms interact with planet features and fleets but it's just too fiddly and random at the moment.

Machine Age certainly showed there is an audience for taking a good, deep take of something (even if it was already existing in principal). Maybe instead of a large expansion and two smaller thingies a year they should instead aim at something like three Machine Age-style expansions over a two-year-period.
