Star Wars™: Rogue Squadron 3D, an award-winning arcade take on X-Wing action, is available on Windows - for the first time in digital distribution - on GOG.com!

Star Wars™: Rogue Squadron 3D turned out to be a sleeper hit, an enormous one at that. Originally released for Windows and Nintendo 64, it was lauded as an immense technical achievement in terms of graphics and a smooth, responsive gameplay experience, eventually outselling any industry estimates by manyfold. Rogue Squadron forsook the realistic simulator approach of the X-Wing series, opting instead for an accessible, visceral arcade experience. The game offers plenty of bonus goodies for Star Wars™ fans, including re-enactments of the famous Death Star trench run and Battle of Hoth, as well as plenty of good old-fashioned unlocks, including a pilotable Millenium Falcon, AT-ST, and even a 1969 Buick Electra.

Become Skywalker's elite in Star Wars™: Rogue Squadron 3D, a visceral dogfighting experience on Windows - for the first time in digital distribution - on GOG.com!

opeter2: Absolutely. This is the only game in the series, that is outside of the Nintendo Consoles.
Yeah, but I own the GC titles. So does it offer anything I can't get from those two games?

Better resolution with less texture? Well ... no. The later games have also missions on foot, etc. thisone doesn't. The best version is the last one.
Is this game playable with PS3/360 controller. This game came out on N64 aswell so playing with a Controller works?

(Also I am planing on getting its much better sequal on Amazon)

A different campaign / set of missions? What more can you expect? :P It's the first in the series.

It's really sad that Factor 5 is pretty much dead. They had an almost finished sequel to Rebel Strike for Wii. Sadly LucasArts had already started to walk on the path of darkness back then...

Yeah, I thought so. Thanks!
I mean, I'm probably gonna pick it up sooner or later, but at the moment, this game is not my main priority.

But for all the people who have never played a game of this series before: 2+3 are really, really awesome, although incredibly hard. I assume the same is true for Rogue Squadron - but it's genuinely a good series!

If I had more disposable income, that would actually be a selling point! :D

why the game does not have the subtitle in french?
I loved this game when I was a young child. Sadly the CD-ROM was lost and all we had left of it was the CD-case. Thank you GOG for bringing this gem here.
I normally don't care much about the Star Wars franchise but I played that game at a friend's house on his N64 back then and it was great fun!
Many different missions, humor and ships to unlock!

Not quite. Battle for Naboo also got a PC release.

Fesin: Do you guys think it's worth it if you already own Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike on the Gamecube? Looks to me like this series is highly iterative.
The first game is my favourite in the series. Lenghtiest campaign and has a less hetic feel to it than Rogue Leader.

I already own it on the 64, but the prospect of playing with a flightstick is mightily tempting. How's the controller support?

Well, it's not like Rebel Strike lacked in content. :p
I think I still haven't beaten it yet, though that's mainly because that game was ridiculously hard. I mean, I appreciate a good challenge, but that Speeder Bike level on Endor - I think I must ahve tried it 300+ times, and still couldn't beat it.

Is Rogue Squadron as hard too?
Hell yeah! Wishlisted. :D

I haven't played this one since it's heyday. But I do remember some of the missions being pretty difficult. I will say it was a real blast to play though. Especially with a joystick!
For me this is an instant buy title, thank you gog!
