Take command of the greatest Star Wars™ battles!

Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga, an RTS classic depicting major conflicts of the Star Wars™ films, is available for the first time in digital distribution on GOG.com!

Released in 2001, Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds was the first Star Wars™ RTS to find success among critics and fans alike. The game's basic formula was a recipe for success. It employed tried and tested gameplay mechanics inspired by the critically acclaimed Age of Empires series (Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds was developed on the very same engine, which contributed to its overall familiar feel), and brought them straight into the realm of Star Wars™, offering fans a brand new way to influence the major conflicts depicted in Star Wars™ films.

The package available here includes the Clone Campaigns expansion pack, which introduced a whole new campaign covering the start of the Clone Wars, with two extra playable factions (CIS and Galactic Republic) and a slew of additional units. In total, Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga includes an impressive eight playable factions, each with its own story-filled single player campaign.

Take direct command of the greatest movie battles in Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga, DRM-free on Windows - for the first time in digital distribution - on GOG.com!

qwixter: ... I am more concerned about the win 7/8 color issues. ... I see in the game forum that others are having issues with colors as well. One guy said that the colors problem was fixed in the gog version, but it seems like several users are having problems with the gog version too.
I don't have any color issues,
running Win 7 64 bit Duel Core Pentium with GeForce GTX 450 Nvidia card.

Using 1024 x 768 resolution for the game...

Thanks. I am wondering if the people having color issues might have applied the widescreen hack which may have removed gog's color fix.

I am pretty close to buying it.

If we had any sever color issues that we couldn't fix then the game wouldn't be released :) I don't know what's going on with the folks that are stating they are having issues with the colors. If they experience this without any mods they should write to us :)
Are there any Population limit mods? i mean besides those which need additional tools in order to be installed. You know, it's no fun if i cannot have my 100 AT-ATs and 500 Troopers...

That many units won't fit on the screen. XD This isn't Warhammer!

Shit, the real Empire didn't have 100 At-Ats. If they did they would have sent a hell of a lot more than 10 to Hoth.

The insurance on those things alone is enough to bankrupt a small star system, never mind registration, gas, oil changes...

Makes you wonder why the Empire even bothered with something that can be taken out with what is essentially some rope.
I mean, nearly everything else in the galaxy hovers, so what's the advantage of using a tank that's able to trip and fall over?

You make a fair point but what people fail to realize is that technically the Empire WON the Battle of Hoth so the Walkers did get the job done.
You're overthinking this. It was added because someone thought it would look cool. It's not meant to be taken seriously as a military vehicle.
Okay who invited the party pooper!? :P
