mventurelli: Hi Matruchus, this is definitely not like Alien Hallway in any way haha :D

The game is really different, people usually don't get it before they actually play.

If you like Plants vs Zombies I recommend trying out the Demo.

The gameplay is not like PvZ but the spirit and design philosophy are.

PaterAlf: Does the game get any harder? So far I've completed the first two main quests of the demo (which means I'm on the planet now) and so far there always was a perfect solution and I could complete each level without losing any health. No need to use any items or to buy something at the shop.
Gets pretty hard, yeah :)

The whole opening hour is a big tutorial. Like I said, Plants vs Zombies is the inspiration. It's supposed to be a game anyone can play.

There is "infinite" difficulty on the Trials of Valhalla as well. It's inspired by Diablo 3's Greater Rifts - it even has Leaderboards

Mr.Caine: looks like a mobile game.

Fairfox: It's deffo a port if that's what you're asking (rather than general insult); teh UI/interface is big, chunky 'n' clearly designed that way with cell phones/paddies in mind, and thus it reminds me of, say, teh Fighting Fantasy games (amongst many others!). I don't mind ports, tho, and this looks like a lot of fun (just getting into teh demo nao so it's a bit too early dayz).

Talking of F.F., since GOGie don't mind ports (and they shouldn't), plskpls change your collective mind and bring 'em here!
It is not a port at all. This is a PC exclusive. The big and chunky interface is due to our inspiration (PopCap games)

Okay, so "Unique Puzzle/RPG gameplay based on teamwork and chain reactions" just translates to 'turn-based tactics', right?

He claims to have already been there.

Always good to have the devs stop in, thanks! And the game visuals remind me a bit of Shattered Planet as well. Good game, also with a tablet-like feel that works fine on the PC.

Matruchus: My fist thought was Plants vs Zombies meets Viking but then I saw this is essentially Alien Hallway in turn based mode.

Still interesting but not for me at the moment.
The original Plants vs Zombies (including Micheal Jackson which was removed (i own the original version)
is playable, it doesn have many flashes, this demo looks like its full, so thats why i got the demo but the game is unityy cause even at 640x480 its before is bad, too much CPU , 99% of all unity games have this problem.

only the startup screen, lowest res. and windowed.

Telling a game uses too much cpu is not allowed i guess...

You are right. I've completed the demo and the last few levels were indee harder than the ones on the ship. I had to use the items I've found and I've even lost a viking.

I like the game so far and consider to buy it.
It's not my thing as a kind of game so I did not finish the demo. But it's pleasant to have a demo and for linux. I am enjoying the Star Vikings hard rock theme.

Not really - the game is not turn-based, per se. Haha. It's weird. Play the demo :)

but it /is/ fun.

thank you for the demo. this is absolutely how it should be done.

am up to the planet at this point and paused, but certainly think that you guys deserve some money for doing it right. [even if i don't play past that point.]

Another one with a Vikings theme?
Almost looks like Vikings are becoming the new Zombies ;-P

Yeah, the game seems surprisingly fun after trying the demo.

The simplistic look and the trailer really deceive you about what this game is about.

Will give it a shot in the future. Also thanks for pointing out the demo otherwise I would have totally missed it.
