Is that JRPG tag really meant to be there? By the screenshots, it looks like a VN.

Anyway, lengthy VN with Japanese text + audio + decent looking art = instabuy.

EDIT: unfortunately exits with undecipherable error (possibly chinese with missing font and/or wrong encoding?) under wine 7.19. I guess I'll try 8.6 and hope it doesn't break anything else..

EDIT3: well emacs managed to decode the mojibake. Error hails from CKeyManager: "キーボードデバイスの作成に失敗しました。" So it's having trouble initializing the keyboard device...

EDIT4: this is starting to look like a bug in the game, arguably. It uses DirectInputCreateEx() with Version 0x700 -- this is used to create a DirectX 7.0 interface. Next up, it calls CreateDeviceEx() with GUID_SysKeyboardEm, which I have reason to believe did not exist at the time of DirectX 7. Documentation on microsoft.com only mentions them in context of DirectX 8, and furthermore says that the Em* GUIDs are "primarily for testing." Apparently these are just aliases for the non-Em variants so I'm not really sure why they exist or why anyone would use them. "These GUIDs always represent the system mouse or keyboard. They are aliases for GUID_SysKeyboard and GUID_SysMouse"

Let's see if I can hack around it..

EDIT: Yup, simply patching the GUIDs works. Needs to be done for SysMouseEm as well.

Unfortunately I don't see how to switch language to Japanese :( Le sigh, should I bother support about it? Or just ask for a refund? :/

And yet another one, this one looks like a visual novel. Scratch that IT IS a visual novel...

JRPG is wrong it is a VN as it is clearly stated as such in the description as well ... but this is GOG and GOG simply don't understand how they should tag their games (rendering their tagging system useless as a side result) so nobody should be surprised here.

The game looks interesting and I like the artstyle so I will put it on the wishlist for now. I am a bit surprised how it got already a rating from 1/5 here on GOG ... we obviously have some pretty fast readers among us ;)

I'm not surprised at all, with all the haters who whine about every VN and Kagura release. :/

Err Kagura doesn't really mention the original Name and there is more often reviews and pics of the games under the original name not so often under Kaguras name
Hence why I mentioned it.
And well most often can't really link the reviews directly here I dunno, some games seem to start at 5/5 and some at 1/5 maybe that is just a feature of the GoG Site ? Or maybe some people really check the site all the time to up and down vote lol.

You could try downloading the Japanese Versions at err places.
Maybe you can switch out some files ?
Of course that would assume the original Version would be working

This is one of the rare instances wherein Kagura games localized an actual pure Visual Novel/Eroge. This is quite a pleasant surprise since they are well known for only localizing lewd RPG Maker games. As for the Visual Novel itself, it’s a pretty decent title if you like dark settings and bad endings. Hope to see them bring more interesting titles such as this one!
