If there's any game with the wait out of EA/InDev it's THIS one! Thanks, GoG for snagging this one!
I've been waiting for years for a DRM-Free release. Finally!

GOG.com: Play a 1:1 scale science-based Universe simulator, featuring billions upon billions of galaxies, nebulae, stars, and planets, all shown at their full real-world scale.
I can read it all over and over again. Soonplay.
I guess the Pro version with the commercial use license is still only Steam Only :(
A big thank you to gog and the studio. I've been waiting for it in drmfree for so long.
And what are the differences between this one and Universe Sandbox?
Absolutely will be picking this up
[Play a 1:1 scale science-based Universe simulator, featuring billions upon billions of galaxies, nebulae, stars, and planets, all shown at their full real-world scale.

Does that mean it´ll take several thousand of years of gameplay to get out of the solar system?
And so, the cosmic-level many-body problem has been solved?

No it won't, because you are playing as a shade. Shadow can actually travel faster than light.

(Yeah, I'm a dumb fuck.)

It was a 3D planetarium at its core. You can navigate like a starship, choosing the speed you like or like a 3D planetarium far away to galaxy clusters, although It has potential to use it in a similar way like Orbiter or kerbal, with slower speeds and orbital operations, real technology. I ignore how optimized is it to use in that way, but it is newtonian so the base is there if not even more. I only tried alphas years ago though.

Choose a part of the solar system or universe and explore at your own pace. It could be enough, but the game is more intended (again) as a 3d planetarium faster than light, where you visit any place of the universe in seconds if you want.

It creates the universe procedurally but also adds the proper known universe 1:! and the catalogue of stars and known bodies available. It is potentially moddeable to add any fictional or real body.

It also lets you land and explore the surface of any body, and the sizes are at real scale. For any cosmology fanatic it can be owerhelming and atractive with its options, real sizes, and the proper scientific information regarding the bodies.

Sadly I cant run it anymore. Too demanding

Lone_Scout: And what are the differences between this one and Universe Sandbox?
Well, for one, the SpaceEngine HD Texture packs are massive and add about 55GB to the game... you can get down and explore individual features on planets, which is not really possible in Universe Sandbox.

Otherwise, I have not played around with it that much, but it looks like the default mode is "exploration" not "sandbox", as it is in Universe Sandbox. The main intended purpose is exploration, not necessarily physics simulation, but there is a customization option (I just haven't looked much into it yet).

I was able to accelerate up to thousands of light years per second, so all bet are off. Can't say I like the fact that light is still visible at that speed (it shouldn't, in theory), but what I do like is that if you travel far out enough, you get red shifted :).

Oh cool, did not expect this one showing up here anytime soon if ever.

Lone_Scout: And what are the differences between this one and Universe Sandbox?
Everything, they have almost nothing in common. Universe Sandbox is a physics simulator where you watch and manipulate physics simulations in a confined sandbox space. SpaceEngine is a full scale representation of the entire universe that you can explore and learn in, and has no physics simulation outside of orbital mechanics and aerodynamics for spacecraft.

Yes, at least for now.
