One plus one equals fun!

<span class="bold">Skylar &amp; Plux: Adventure on Clover Island</span>, a vibrant 3D platformer where two animal buddies spread colorful mayhem, is now available DRM-free on GOG.com with a 33% launch discount.

She is a lynx, he is an owl, can it be any more obvious? Their adventure is a glorious homage to the 3D platformers of yore, featuring an unstoppable pair of agile and cheeky companions out to save their beautiful island from a misguided megalomaniac. Makes me think of Ratchet & Klank on ps4. Didn't like that one much but nice for those who wanted a game like that on PC. Hopefully it is decent.

After playing it for about an hour, I can say it's... predictable. The first time I saw a giant mushroom I knew it would bounce, for example.

6 Year Old Daughter is playing it now.

Seems a fairly Standard 3D platformer, controls are responsive.

Fairly cute, nothing ground breaking about the story so far, but the important part is its fun.

I'll have a play later myself.

Same reason for ripping her vocal chords.

I just beat it.. it's okay, but feels like a poor man's Jak & Daxter. It's short (2 hours 40 minutes) and not replayable, but okay for the price I got. There is a nice mechanic thrown at the last quarter in the game, but I feel like if this game had more budget it would've been fleshed out into a nice indie platformer that doesn't feel like a concept for a bigger game.

I'd still recommend Yooka-Laylee (in a sale) over this.

Is the genre making a comeback after all?

I'm slightly on the skeptical side with this one, due to the fact that it's so cheap, and I've never heard of it before. On the other hand, it is really cheap, and the screenshots look quite nice. Might pick it up when I've finished Yooka-Laylee.

167 minutes here, according to my save file. I haven't rescued all the Lo'a and I do not intend to. Was fun while it lasted.

As a sidenote: I played it with the Steam overlay because Galaxy would turn my attempts to get screenshots into some kind of LSD nightmare. It's a step up from Scanner Sombre, where it would give me pure black, but still...

I tried it for a bit and it's.. functional.
All the platforming and such works and feels decent.
The entire game can be summed up the same way really.
It's functional, but a bit soulless.
Voice acting is flat and soulless, but not bad.
Jokes are.. well actually those are bad.
Cutscenes are in moving comic format.
But you can skip them, again functional.
It's more of a throwback to the late 90s/early 2000s than that game that boasted it was.

I thought putty was pretty much a bunch of flour, salt and some food dye. The crayons, same difference, like the "wax lips" they used to sell, but with some food dye.

I'm starting to think that everything they give to kids these days is all edible (even though it might make one overweight, give one high blood pressure or perhaps cause cancer).

Willy Wonka would be proud (as long as they signed the agreement).
