Was about to say exactly the same. Did not get a reply from the devs on Steam or via social media when asking. So I WON'T BUY until this have arrived on GOG as well - period. Sorry, GOG - if you want my money, kindly ask the devs/publishers to treat GOG the same and offer Pipe Dreams here as well as free bonus. I will then buy since I am interested in the game.

Edit: Now that they want to sell S2 here on GOG I will try to contact them again and tell them what I just posted above. Maybe they will finally react now.

Edit: I just contacted the publishers again BUT it seems as if the first Simulacra (and probably Pipe Dreams as well) was self published by the devs - so I might have to contact them (again) as well.

I loved the first, but it may have been novelty. I'll give this a try over the weekend.

Not familiar with the series but bought both for the good reviews.

Interesting how the game has grown. Simulacra 1 is 383 megabytes, the sequel is 14.4 gigabytes.

I presume Simulacra 3 will be 5.6 terabytes then.

Thank you for telling me - it went to my spam folder which I fixed now. I have to say something to your reply which might be interesting to others as well, so I hope you won't mind that I post the main part of it here:

"Unfortunately, we don't really have plans to bring Pipedreams to GOG (or any other platforms for that matter). Pipedreams was an experiment on producing quality content and releasing it for free, with the only revenue option being Advertisements and a single In-App purchase to remove that. Even on steam we make zero revenue (No Ads & No In-app purchase), and Pipedreams did not gate content / aggressively push Ads on mobile. As such it didn't make back our investment and internally we decided to keep Pipedreams as a free game for new players to get to know our type of games.

It wouldn't be fair to charge for Pipedreams on other platforms as it is free on iOS, Android and Steam right now. Our logic was, if players wanted to play they could easily get it on either of the mobile appstores (especially if they didn't want to get it in Steam).

Hope this explains our decision, but if you have any good ideas we are keen to listen."

Yes, you make zero revenue with Pipe Dreams but you still brought it to Steam and never brought it to to GOG (or other stores) while still accepting their money for the base game as well. This for me is a sign that you treat GOG customers (and customers from other stores) worse than Steam customers. Uploading another build of Pipe Dreams to GOG would not be really that costly for you but you still decided to not do ANY adfditional work for GOG customers. Now you still want me to buy your next game? I do understand that you don't want to invest in something without any revenue but you did so when you offered it to Steam customers anyway.

But you asked for ideas as well and in fact I could offer you an idea:
Upload a DRM-free build of Pipe Dreams and post the link for everybody to get it (many devs did such things in the past). As you said, it never made you money anyways and this way at least you would have fair treatment and happy customers who then would buy your other games (which makes you money) as well.

You have to see it this way: make your customers happy and they will buy from you because they WANT to support you. It's the whole idea of DRM-free gaming as well: Make your customer WANT to pay for your game and they won't betray you. So far it worked out for GOG so it probably will work out for you as well. Let me add something to this idea. There once was a kickstarter project I backed with $15 first (because I liked the idea of the game) before I noticed how nice the devs were - so I decided to back even more. I eneded up backing $80 and buying the game twice as a gift after release as well as recommending the game to everyone I knew or even did not know at all. You see? That's how you make money - simply be nice and fair to your customers.

That being said I urge you strongly to reconsider because I know that I won't. If Pipe Dreams stays unavailable in a DRM-free form you've seen the last money from me.

Anyway thank your for your reply - I really hope that you will think about my words. They are meant to be constructive and not destructive or even some kind of ranting. I just tried to make you understand how the other side - the side you get your money from - is thinking.

So many options:

- Release it as a freebie
- Add it as bonus content for both the first and the second game.
- Go the Bethesda route "Buy any of our games on gog and you will receive this bonus game FOR FREE!"

Don't forget to add a disclaimer that says "This is a free bonus and is no longer officially supported by the devs, if it doesn't work it's not our fault yadda yadda yadda" to absolve you of any further work other than sending gog a build.

I was going to post a lengthy reply about how much this annoys me, but i'll just say this I was going to get Simulacra 2 here as well (as I own it on Steam) but I'm going to not bother now. There's strong chance that i'll not bother with Kaigan Games at all again, as I'm pretty annoyed that your response seems to be either get it on Steam or from a mobile appstore.

Well, let's not forget that Shahrizar asked for options and fronzelneekburm as well as myself offered him some. Like I said, my post was not meant as a ranting but rather constructive critizism in the hope they will understand and react accordingly. So before crossing them out completely we should give them the opportunity to react. Maybe they will surpise us in the end (yes, hope dies last ;)).

In that case I have to disagree with you. Since they are making no revenue on it, I don't feel they have any obligation to bring it to as many stores as possible, even if it would be nice to have it on GOG too. (Not that anyone has any "obligation" to bring any game to any store, for that matter...)

So, yeah, I just went to Steam and redeemed the free Simulacra Pipe Dreams there. Since it is free, I won't complain that it isn't on GOG or if it has Denuvo and Blue Danube on it.

Since it is a free game, I don't understand what the issue is with getting it from some other store.

I bet there would be a much bigger shitstorm if the publisher really brought the game to GOG and charged money for it (even though I personally wouldn't mind that either, as long as it is a low price; if someone doesn't want to buy the game, then don't).

This discussion didn't make me feel any worse for having just bought Simulacra 1-2 from GOG. I don't feel like a second class citizen due to this.

EDIT: Has anyone tested if Simulacra Pipe Dreams is DRM-free on Steam? If it is, then I see even less point to this discussion.
